Well, we drove out to Lake Ray Roberts on Friday. Unfortunately, the air was pretty hazy, then it turned cloudy. So, there was not enough time to gather enough exposure.
This is a wide field view attempt at the an ionized gas region IC 1396 located in the constellation Cepheus about 2400 light years from Earth. IC 1396 is a large generally circular region of glowing gas and dust. Measuring approximately 100 light-years across, this region is energized by a bluish central multiple star called HD 206267.
The ionized gas glows bright while dark dust concentration in the area can also be seen - even in this relatively poor image.
