🚨Response to APD’s Latest Statement🚨

Abilene Police Department now says the zoning issue is “secondary” and that the real issue is v**e products in schools. Let’s be clear: CBD House of Healing has never sold to minors nor were they violating any zoning ordinance.

Every customer is required to show a valid ID—including the undercover officers who made purchases during this investigation which is how we know who they are and exactly what they bought.

Every product on their shelves is tested by accredited labs before sale. Our clients have long supported stronger regulation to ensure all operators are held to the same standard.

In fact, before the raid even occurred, our clients publicly voiced support for responsible regulation in an interview with KACU.

We’re aware of reports claiming 17.5 pounds of “ma*****na” were seized from our clients’ store, CBD House of Healing. That claim is false and misleading.

1️⃣ Texas law requires accredited lab quantitative testing to determine whether something is h**p (legal) or ma*****na (illegal). The lab APD used before getting its warrant was not accredited for quantitative testing.

2️⃣ According to Officer Valentine’s own affidavit, only one product was tested before the raid. Despite this, officers seized everything—even items that never tested positive.

3️⃣ To date, there’s been no proper lab testing of what was taken. Meanwhile, our clients had already completed accredited testing before stocking their shelves, showing compliance with Texas law.
The public deserves the truth, not reckless headlines.

As lawyers, we have an absolute responsibility to our clients, the Constitution, and a dedication to the rule of law. I anticipate this will not be the only fall out from the little “raid” Abilene Police Department conducted on CBD House of Healing.

We commend The Law Firm of Chaile Allen, PLLC for standing up for her client and against this unbelievably excessive overreach by a few bad apples.

We have been retained and will do the same!

Today, I made the decision to resign as Associate Municipal Judge for the City of Abilene, effective immediately.

When I accepted this role, I did so out of a commitment to serve my community while continuing to represent my private clients. Unfortunately, the blatant disregard for my client’s rights left me with no other choice.

On August 23, 2025, my client CBD House of Healing was raided by APD. Despite repeated requests by my client, I was denied access to him – an alarming violation of his constitutional right to counsel. It is my position that this entire situation could have been avoided through open and honest dialogue with Abilene Policed Department; however, my attempts to do so with both Chief Seratte and Officer Valentine were wholly ignored.

I remain committed to defending due process, holding agencies accountable when they deny citizens their rights, and serving this community through my law practice.
