Today the partners, attorneys and staff of Ingram, Zelasko & Goodwin, LLP are proud to celebrate our 70th Anniversary.
On August 25, 1950 our founding partner, Ernest M. Ingram (Ernie) passed the Washington State Bar Exam and returned to his hometown – Aberdeen – to open up his law practice.
Ernie personally practiced law for more than 50 years. He joined with Ted Zelasko (also a local lad), who had recently returned to the Harbor after serving in WWII and finishing up law school. They became the first non-related law partnership in Grays Harbor history, forming Ingram & Zelasko in 1960. With the association of Dick Goodwin in 1967, the original triad was formed, and our firm has practiced under the heading of Ingram, Zelasko & Goodwin, LLP since 1968.
Over the years, we have added new partners and associates, and we currently have nine lawyers in the office: four partners and three associates and two former partners who now serve the firm in the capacity referred to as of counsel. We are the largest firm in coastal Washington covering three-plus counties and have combined legal experience in excess of 200 years.
We have operated in three primary locations around the Aberdeen during our 70 years: in a suite of offices in the Becker Building, then in the newly constructed SeaFirst (Bank of America) Building when it was completed in the mid-1970s, and now (for the past 11 years) in the remodeled former Trinity Lutheran Church building on the corner of First and I Streets in downtown Aberdeen.
Today we stop working long enough to pause and give thanks to our founding partners, and especially Ernie Ingram, for setting us on a steady foundation 70 years ago. Since our founding, we have dedicated ourselves to giving big city legal advice and to representing our clients in a small-town setting, making sure that all our clients receive the same careful, thoughtful, and compassionate representation that has been our hallmark from the beginning 70 years ago.
We regret that current times prevent us from having a big blow-out celebration with our friends and clients. See us in five more years when we celebrate our 75th; it will be epic.
Thank you, Grays Harbor, for support our firm and for letting us represent your legal needs.
Here’s to 70 more years of the same!
