Accident location: Tivoli street and South State Street, Downtown City of Abbeville, Louisiana - In front of City Hall
Driver fled the scene and swapped out with passenger on Concord Street - See Video

UPDATE - VPSO has taken over the investigation from APD.

UPDATE - thanks to Team VPSO, including Sheriffs Mike Couvillon & Eddie Langlinais, SGT/Detective Lon Hargrave, and Colonel Kirk Frith - the driver, passenger and owner of the HIT and RUN vehicle have been identified.

Let's take a trip down memory lane to the fascinating history of Roy's Bar & Grill!
In 1937, Roy LeBlanc flung open the doors to this iconic spot with its ultra-modern design and, can you believe it, air conditioning! ❄️ They proudly claimed to whip up the finest cocktails in all of Southwest Louisiana. 🍸
🤝Fast forward to the 1940s through the 1950s, and the place transformed into Irby's bar & restaurant. It wasn't just a bar; it was where locals gathered for VFW, Rotary, Lions Club, and Quota Club meetings!
🏛️Mr. Roy eventually handed over the reins to Marcus Broussard Sr, who in 1966 did something groundbreaking - he opened the first legal corporation in the state!
It was none other than the Broussard and Broussard Law Office, which stayed open till 2008.
🏢Then, in 2009, The Law Office of Gabe A. Duhon moved in, and they're still holding it down at 105 Tivoli St today!
📜But wait, there's more history! In 1960, this historic building became a campaign headquarters for none other than Senator Kennedy, who was running for President!

Today is !

We are traveling back to the late 1930s to Roy’s Restaurant! This restaurant was located at 105 Tivoli which was originally the US Post office until 1937 when a new post office was built on North State Street.
This restaurant was owned and operated
by Roy Leblanc. From 1945 into the 1950s it was operated as Irby’s Bar and Restaurant by Irby Hebert.
This is the current law office of Gabe A Duhon.
