Kasirye, Byaruhanga & Co. Advocates attended the 10th East African Petroleum Conference and Exhibition (EAPCE’23) from 9th to 11th May, 2023 at Kampala Serena Hotel, Uganda, represented by Counsel Diana Nabuuso.
An interesting event under the theme “East Africa as a Hub for Investment in Exploration and Exploitation of Petroleum Resources for Sustainable Energy and Socioeconomic Development’”. The primary goal was to converge oil and gas sector players, government representatives, development partners, private sector players, academia, and all other stakeholders, local and international, in a unique assembly that offered an exceptional opportunity to showcase the East African Community (EAC) as a destination for oil and gas investment opportunities to enhance socio-economic transformation.
On the last day of the conference, the Women in Energy and Extractives Network (WEEN) was launched. WEEN is an initiative that was established to promote gender equity and inclusion in the energy and extractives sector and provide a platform for women in the industry to connect, learn, and collaborate. This is all geared towards promoting the participation of women in the sector.
