WHY AN EMBRYO TRANSFER MAY NOT RESULT IN PREGNANCY?

One of the hardest truths in assisted reproduction is this:
a failed embryo transfer is not always caused by a medical mistake or by the surrogate’s body. Here’s why:

An embryo is not just a group of cells - it is a complex, living system that must continue developing step by step.

Even when:
• the surrogate is thoroughly screened
• the uterine lining is appropriate
• hormone levels and progesterone are confirmed
• the medical protocol is followed precisely
• the embryo is PGT-A tested
…a pregnancy may still not occur.

But WHY?

Because development depends on what happens inside the embryo.
PGT-A testing checks chromosome number, but it cannot evaluate:
• how cells divide after transfer
• how energy is used
• how tissues and early structures begin forming
• how maternal and paternal DNA communicate with each other.

Sometimes, although both egg and s***m are healthy, their DNA combination is not compatible for continued development. When deeper developmental processes are activated, the embryo may naturally stop growing. This happens at a microscopic level we cannot currently see or predict.

Human reproduction is not a guaranteed process, even with modern technology. Sometimes an embryo simply cannot continue developing, and the body responds by stopping the process early.

This outcome is heartbreaking - but it is not a failure of effort, care, or responsibility. It is a reflection of how complex and delicate early human development truly is 💙

Positive attempts don’t need any explanations because when everything goes well, it’s great. Though we want you to understand what a miracle is to have a child, it’s a pure magic and combination of so many factors that we take for granted sometimes, without diving into the complexity of this process. We also want to let you know that there’s always HOPE ✨💫

Dear Intended Parents,

We would like to inform you that, starting October 2025, we will be pausing accepting new clients.

Due to the ongoing war, many women have left Ukraine, which has significantly affected the availability of qualified surrogate candidates. As you know, we remain committed to the highest standards of care and selection and can’t compromise on the screening process and values that guide our work.

At this time, our priority is to ensure that current clients are matched with suitable candidates without creating long waiting lists. Therefore, we will no longer be accepting embryo shipments and new processes until further notice.

Unfortunately this pause may last until January 2026, but we will provide updates as soon as we are able to accept new cases again.

Potential surrogates are carefully screened and must pass a number of tests as required by our program as well as by the Ukraine laws.⁣⁣⠀

The screening will include a thorough examination that involves a physical and lab testing for sexually transmitted diseases. The entire screening process takes about 2-4 weeks. ⁣⁣⠀

Our surrogate mother requirements are strict, but they have been defined in order to protect the health of potential future surrogates, newborns and future parents. It is required that surrogate mothers had children on their own, did not have any complications in their previous pregnancies as it is more likely that complications will occur in their next pregnancy. ⁣⁣⠀

Other requirements are being non-smokers and non-drug/alcohol users.⁣⁣⠀
⁣⁣⠀
The testing involves: ⁣⁣⠀
✅ blood tests for syphilis, HIV, hepatitis B and C (valid 3 months)⁣⁣⠀

✅ thyroid function⁣⁣⠀

✅ bacterioscopic analysis of va**na, urethra and cervix⁣⁣⠀
✅ cytological examination of cervical smears⁣⁣⠀
✅ screening for urogenital and TORCH-infections⁣⁣⠀
✅ ultrasound of internal organs and pelvic organs⁣⁣⠀
✅ examination of physician, obstetrician, psychiatrist, toxicologist (doctor on substance abuse)⁣⁣⠀
✅ conclusion on the state of physical health and the absence of contradictions to pregnancy.

While we understand that intended parents are deeply invested — emotionally, financially, and personally in the outcome of their journey, it’s important to recognize that egg donation and surrogacy, like all aspects of human reproduction, involve medical, biological, and emotional complexities. Here are key reasons why guarantees are not possible:

Fertility treatments involve many steps—egg retrieval, fertilization, embryo transfer, and pregnancy—and each step carries its own risks and variables. A successful embryo transfer does not always result in a successful pregnancy or live birth.

𝟯. 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 - 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀
Surrogates are human beings, not service providers delivering a guaranteed result. Their health, safety, and well-being must come first throughout the process. Every surrogacy journey is unique and deeply personal.
