HAPPENING NOW | Trinidad and Tobago–Venezuela Bilateral Engagement 🇹🇹🤝🇻🇪

I have arrived in Venezuela for high-level bilateral discussions aimed at further strengthening the longstanding relationship between Trinidad and Tobago and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

Upon arrival at Simón Bolívar International Airport, my delegation and I were warmly received by officials of the Embassy of Trinidad and Tobago in Caracas and senior representatives of the Government of Venezuela.

I look forward to productive engagements focused on strengthening bilateral ties, regional security and expanding opportunities for economic cooperation between our two nations.

As neighbours, continued dialogue and cooperation remain essential as we work together to advance our shared interests and deliver meaningful benefits for our people and the wider region. 🇹🇹🇻🇪

🇹🇹 Happy 64th Independence Day, Trinidad and Tobago! 🇹🇹

Today, we celebrate 64 years of independence and the remarkable journey of our beloved nation—our people, our culture, our resilience and the unmistakable Trinbagonian spirit that connects us wherever we may be in the world.

As we reflect on how far we have come, let us also look ahead with renewed hope and determination to the Trinidad and Tobago we are continuing to build—one of greater opportunity, unity and prosperity for every citizen.

May we always take pride in who we are, believe in the potential of our country, and work together toward an even brighter future.

Proud past. Strong present. Bright future.

On behalf of my family and the people of Tabaquite, I wish everyone a safe and happy 64th Independence Day! 🇹🇹❤️🖤🤍

As another school year begins, we know that for many families, Back to School brings excitement—but it can also bring added financial pressure.

Through our Back to School Drive, we were grateful to lend a helping hand to parents and families across the Tabaquite constituency, ensuring that more of our children can return to the classroom prepared, confident and ready to learn. 🎒📚

Every child deserves the opportunity to begin the school year with the tools they need to succeed, and every parent deserves to know that their community is standing with them.

This initiative would not have been possible without the incredible generosity of our business community and partners. Thank you for answering the call and supporting our young people and their families. I also extend heartfelt appreciation to my team and everyone who volunteered, contributed and worked behind the scenes to make this drive a success.

To our students: dream big, work hard, believe in yourselves and make this school year count. We are rooting for you every step of the way.

Wishing every student, parent and educator a safe, successful and rewarding new school year. ❤️🎒🇹🇹

Today, I had the honour of participating in the 64th Independence Entrepreneur Awards in the City of Lauderhill, where I joined members of our Trinidad and Tobago diaspora in celebrating entrepreneurship, excellence and service.

I was also deeply honoured to receive the Key to the City of Lauderhill from Mayor Denise D. Grant—an acknowledgement I accept with gratitude and share with the many people who have supported my journey in public service.

Our diaspora remains an important part of our national story and a powerful bridge for trade, investment, innovation and opportunity. As Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, I remain committed to strengthening these connections and ensuring that Trinidad and Tobago continues to engage meaningfully with our nationals abroad.

I also conveyed warm Independence greetings on behalf of Prime Minister the Honourable Kamla Persad-Bissessar, SC, as our nation prepares to celebrate 64 years of Independence.

Congratulations to all of this year’s award recipients, and thank you to Mayor Grant and the City of Lauderhill for the warm welcome and continued friendship extended to the people of Trinidad and Tobago. 🇹🇹🤝🇺🇸
