We would like to introduce our third court, U.S. Criminal Court. This time, the court is the most critical cases of U.S. history: United States v. Kaczynski. In this year’s edition of the US Criminal Court, you will hear an appeal for the case of Ted, also known as 17-year Unabomber, made homemade bombs to conducts attacks via emails targeting academics and airports. Ted Kaczynski case, which posed a great danger to the American citizens and their country is it in your hands. Having the opportunity to be a part of this case will challenge and develop your knowledge of U.S. Criminal law, which would give you an upper hand in the field of comparative law. There it is the second term in our Legal Dictionary! Ratio Decidendi refers to the legal, moral, political and social principles on which a court’s decision rests. It is the rationale for reaching the decision of a case. It is binding on lower courts through the principle of Stare decisis. The ratio is a ruling on the point of law, and the decision on the point of law depends on facts of a case. Stay tuned hold for the rest of the Dictionary!

Arbitration is a process by which parties consensually submit a specific dispute to a non-governmental decision-maker to render a binding decision, resolving the dispute at hand. In this session of JMC, the participants to the International Commercial Arbitration will try to solve the dispute of Kuvartz Co. v. Salem LLP as arbitrators or counsels in an Ad Hoc Arbitration under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules.
