State agencies in Phuket recently warned condominium owners that renting out a condo unit on a daily basis using Airbnb might violate the Hotel Act. Furthermore, land and house tax and personal income tax are rarely paid on such rental income (if not on any rental income).

Thailand is actively looking into the Private Investment in State Undertakings Act to attract private sector to invest in waste-to-energy power plants. So far there were no proper and sustainable guidelines on garbage management in the past, which is why 30 million tons of waste has been accumulated. BOI Thailand agreed that pharmaceutical companies will receive 5 to 8 years exemption of corporate income tax and confirmed tax support policies for small and medium size companies on medical equipment business. Medical companies that applied for BOI incentives surged 252% during the last half of the year (175 existing pharmaceutical and 800 herbal factories).
