🏛️ The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization
This museum (commonly referred to as NMEC) is one of the most important cultural attractions in Egypt. It is located in the Fustat district of Cairo and is the first museum in the country to present a comprehensive overview of Egyptian civilization—from prehistoric times to the modern era—all in one place.
📜 History
▪️The idea for the museum was first proposed in 1982, with support from UNESCO.
▪️Construction began in the 2000s, and parts of the museum opened to the public in 2017.
▪️It was officially inaugurated in 2021, marked by the globally celebrated Pharaohs' Golden Parade,
during which royal mummies were ceremoniously transferred from the Egyptian Museum to this site.
