Rain did little to dampen the energy at the 11th edition of the ๐๐โ๐ ๐๐๐ฝ, where 22 teams from across the legal fraternity came together for a day of spirited futsal, camaraderie and community giving.
We were honoured to have Minister Edwin Tong SC join us as Guest of Honour. In his remarks, he spoke about the importance of second chances and the role of community support in rehabilitation and reintegration.
This yearโs event brought together the legal fraternity and the wider community in support of Yellow Ribbon Cares and the Singapore After-Care Association, raising close to $197,000 for the beneficiaries.
Kicking off the tournament was an Exhibition Match between the All-Star Team and The Law Society of Singapore Womenโs Team, captained by Ms Lynn Cheng from Dentons Rodyk. The Exhibition Match brought together participants who gamely took to the pitch in support of the cause, including Minister Edwin Tong, Justice Kwek Mean Luck, Justice Hri Kumar, Mr Yi Wong of Singapore Corporate Counsel Association, Mr Wee Teck Tan of Yellow Ribbon Cares and Mr Prem Kumar of Singapore Aftercare Association SACA, members of the legal community, and former national footballers Fandi Ahmad and Nazir Nasri.
There was also fun for the little ones at the Kidsโ Futsal Clinic, where children picked up new skills and joined in the festivities with their families.
