I visited the last known address of Svetlana, the Russian birth mother in Belovo town, Kemerovo region on October 30, 2025. I met Nelli, the grandmother and she informed me that Svetlana passed away on January 3, 2025 due to liver cirrhosis caused by alcohol abuse. She gave birth to her son Danila (Joseph after adoption) and she abandoned him in the Maternity hospital, Belovo town. He was later adopted by the US family. Nelli said that Svetlana gave birth to a daughter and she left her in the Maternity hospital. She has no information about her current status - adopted, placed in a foster family or resides at the Orphanage. Nelli, unfortunately, has no interest in her grandchildren and she never searched for them. I sent a request to the Administration of Belovo town at the end of November and they informed on December 5, 2025 that Joseph has a sister named Marusya born in 2015 and she was adopted by the Russian family in 2017. They sent the adoptive mother's email and the US adoptive parents wrote her a letter same day. Natalia, the Russian adoptive mother replied on December 7, 2025 and informed that Marusya is a special needs child and she studies at the Correctional school in Kemerovo region. She’s 10 years old and has severe fetal alcohol syndrome, and a few verbal skills, due to Svetlana’s alcoholism during pregnancy. She is a very kind and gentle girl but she has a strong character. The US adoptive parents were excited to have received a letter from Natalia and pictures of Joseph’s half-sister, Marusya. It's a lovely reunion of the two children adopted by the loving US and Russian families and a beautiful Christmas gift for all of them! Beautiful meeting of Grace and her Kazakh birth family took place in Uralsk town, Western Kazakhstan region at the end of August 2025. The whole Kazakh family came over to the airport with balloons and flowers and they greeted Grace and her US adoptive father James. Grace and James had a great time and they did truly Kazakh fun - Grace was riding a horse and James shot a bow. And they, of course, tried traditional and delicious homemade Kazakh food.
I met the birth family relatives in Uralsk town at the end of October 2024 and they told me a heartbreaking story of Grace's abandonment. Karlygash, the birth mother gave birth to Grace by caesarean section under anesthesia. The Maternity hospital doctors said that her daughter was born underweight, she did not survive and passed away soon after the birth. The doctors took advantage of her helpless state after anesthesia and gave her false information. They did not show the body of the deceased girl and her death certificate. Karlygash and Bagdat, the birth father have never intended to abandon their newborn child and all these years they thought she was dead. They were shocked to learn twenty-four years later that their daughter was alive and living happily with the US family. They took a DNA test in the USA and Kazakhstan, which confirmed that they are Grace's birth parents!
Grace's relatives showered her with exceptional love and care during her short visit to the homeland and she took away wonderful memories of this amazing meeting with her birth parents, three half-brothers, an aunt, sisters-in-law and many cousins!

Beautiful and heartkinded reunion of the two sisters, Elena from California, the USA (white dress) and Tatiana from Novorossiysk, Russia (black dress) and extended Russian family took place at Andrey Malakhov's TV show in Moscow on April 22, 2025! Colleen, Elena's adopted mother joined the meeting in the TV studio via video link and she cried with happiness that the two sisters finally met!
Elena contacted me in late autumn of 2024 and she asked to locate her Russian sister Tatiana. I started the search for Tatiana on VK and OK Russian social in early October 2024. Tatiana got married in 2018 and she changed her surname so it was impossible to locate her on Russian social media. I sent a written request to the Department of children’s welfare, Novorossiysk city of November 1, 2024 asking to pass Elena's contact details on to her sister Tatiana. The Department’s official was just about to send me a reply stating that they do not have information on Elena's sister but she decided to ask her older colleague Elena Vladimirovna if she knows Tatiana T. and she replied: - "Yes, of course I know her well, I know her life story etc". Elena Vladimirovna examined Tatiana's file and found her contact details and she got in touch with her straightaway. Elena Vladimirovna was the only person who knew Tatiana’s story as she has worked in the Department since early 1990s. Elena Vladimirovna was very happy for Tatiana and she asked to keep her informed on how Tatiana's and Elena's relations are progressing. Tatiana and I agree that it was a miracle that someone in the Department knew Tatiana's family and it's so lovely that Elena Vladimirovna still works there. On November 8, 2024 Tatiana contacted her sister Elena via email for the first time and they chatted every single day since!
No one told Tatiana that she has an older sister and she always thought that she was alone in this world. The Russian foster mother took Tatiana from the Orphanage and she lived with her for sometime but then she deciced to place Tatiana in the Orphanage due to her hiperactivity. Tatiana was abandoned twice, at birth and then by the Russian foster mother.
We went to the VDNKH exhibition center in Moscow after the filming and we had a great time riding the ferris wheel and the cable car. Tatiana spent two wonderful days in Moscow with Elena and her fiance Christian and then returned to Novorossiysk by train. That was a magical meeting in Moscow of the two souls, two beautiful sisters who were separated in Novorossiysk, Russia 30 years ago!

Irisha was adopted to the UK from Chusovoy town, Perm region back in 2005. On May 23, 2025 she had a videochat with her older Russian sisters Anjela and Kristina for the first time - 21 years after being separated from them. It was a fantastic and unforgettable moment for Irisha, her parents, Anjela, Kristina and their little children! Their Russian birth parents, Tatiana and Vladimir, passed away in July 2020 due to alcohol poisoning. They drank fake volka and died on the same day in their apartment in Chusovoy town - RIP! Irisha works as a care assistant in a care home in the UK. Anjela minds her four children and she lives with them in an one-room apartment in Chusovoy town. Kristina, the oldest sister, lives with her 17-year-old daughter and a husband in Chusovoy town. Irisha and her parents plan to meet the Russian sisters in Istanbul, Turkey to hug and kiss each other!

Svetlana, the Russian birth mother from Tuma settlement, Ryazan region reunited with her US adopted son Alex and daughter Tatiana on 17 February 2025. She is a former primary school teacher and she plays accordion quite well. Her house was burned down back in 1999 and she lived in her friends' apartments in Tuma settlement. She currenlty lives with her handicapped husband in an awful apartment and they heat it with firewood (no gas and central heating). There is no hope for them to get a new housing from the government. She lost all her five children by the Court order due to lack of housing and moderate alcohol abuse. Two were adopted to the USA and the other three were placed in the Russian foster families in Ryazan region. Svetlana is a kind-hearted woman with tough background and she was very happy to receive good news from Alex and Tatiana. I recorded her short videomessage to her children in the USA. She said she won't die until she hugs and kisses them! ❤️

I located Cholpon, the Kyrgyz birth mother on February 3, 2025 in Bishkek city, Kyrgyzstan. She was a surrogate mother for her friend. Cholpon's friend and her husband decided to leave the newborn girl in the Maternity hospital once they learned that she was born with cleft lip. Cholpon kept visiting the girl in the Baby home in Bishkek and she started to recognise her birth mom at the age of 18 months. The doctors adviced her to stop visiting the girl if she does not intend to take her home in order to avoid pshycological trauma to the child. The German doctors operated her cleft lip in Bishkek city and after adoption the US doctors operated her cleft tongue. The girl is happilly living in her loving family in the USA. I was able to meet the girl's half-sisters in Bishkek and they are keen to communicate with their sister.

Sam and his US adopted mom Natalie visited Sam's birth family in Samarkand, Uzbekistan over the New Year holiday 🎊The birth family relatives met Sam and Natalie at the airport and they treated them with a traditional Uzbek dish, a fire-roasted lamb. What a nice way to start the Year 😀 Happy New Year 🎊 everyone!

Elena was adopted to the USA in June 1996 and her younger sister Tatiana was placed in Novorossiysk orphanage, Russia (their birth mom Irina passed away in February 2005). No one told Tatiana about her older sister and all her life she lived with the thought that she was the only child in the family and she has no siblings. I sent a request to the Novorossiysk department of children's welfare and they found Tatiana and gave her Elena's email. Tatiana wrote to Elena on November 8, 2024 and the two sisters, the two beautiful souls have reunited after so many years of separation. Elena and Tatiana communicate every day since then and it is impossible to describe in words how happy they are... Elena wrote: - "What a miracle that I was able to reconnect with my sister. We have been nonstop talking on Telegram the last two days and I cannot even begin to express my gratitude. I have been on this mission for years and with your help I have found my answers. I know we were meant to connect again! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I haven't stopped crying with joy since receiving her email. I am so happy to have found my sister".

Audrey met her birth mom Svetlana in Magnitogorsk, Russia for the first time in August 2024! They were so happy to spend two wonderful weeks together and Audrey said: 'I feel like home in Russia, it is unreal'!

Ambria, the US adoptee and her adoptive mom Ogden met Ambria's birth mom Gulzada, her younger brother Dos and grandparents on July 29, 2024 in Taldykorgan town, Almaty district, Kazakhstan. The Kazakh birth family treated Ambria and Ogden with traditional Kazakh food beshbarmak and horsemeat and everybody enjoyed this unforgettable day! People in the Central Asian republics have a very special warmth, politeness and hospitality and I am delighted Ambria & Ogden had such a wonderful experience! 🌹💐💓

Chris, the US adoptee and his Russian birth family from Rostov-on-Don were reunited on July 23, 2024. I visited the first two home addresses and tried to find Chris's birth mother Irina but she moved to the third address and the neighbor explained me how to find her. I went to home address #3 and the young lady was about to leave the aparment block in which the birth mother resides. I asked her if she knows Irina, Chris's birth mother and a few moments later she said... I am his sister Katya. What a nice and unexpected surprise it was. I had a nice conversation with Katya and she briefly told me about Chris's birth family relatives. She heard about Chris's birth but their mother did not want to talk about it for obvious reasons. Katya cannot wait to start communication with her brother and she promised to start learning English!

Nicholas, the US adoptee became a dad six months ago and after that he had a strong desire to find his birth family in Russia. Irina, Nicholas's birth mom had ten pregnancies and she gave birth to two children. Ksenia, Nicholas's half-sister met me at the Eltsin's Center in Ekaterinburg at the end of April 2024 and she told that Nicholas's birth mom is unable to meet me due to her disability and a strong emotional disturbance. Ksenia's two daughters and her husband do not know about Nicholas and she is afraid of disclosing them information about him. She thinks that they will not understand why their granny abandoned the child in the Maternity hospital. It is a very emotional and controversial situation and Ksenia does not know how to deal with that. She decided to wait until the right time comes before she will tell about Nicholas to her family...
