During Exercise Cold Response (CORE), Dutch Marines trained in Norway’s harsh Arctic environment 🇳🇴, navigating rugged mountains ⛰️, enduring sub-zero temperatures 🥶 and carrying out a demanding casualty evacuation 🛥️.
CORE is part of NATO’s enhanced Vigilance Activity Arctic Sentry, strengthening the Alliance’s ability to operate in extreme conditions.

AFP Names Acting Vice Chief of Staff in Change of Chief of Office Ceremony
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) formally marked the transition of leadership in the Office of the Vice Chief of Staff, AFP (OVCSAFP) on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Tejeros Hall, AFP Commissioned Officers’ Country, Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, following the retirement of Lieutenant General Jimmy D. Larida PN(M), the 51st Vice Chief of Staff, AFP.
Lieutenant General Rommel P. Roldan PAF, Deputy Chief of Staff, AFP, formally assumed as Acting Vice Chief of Staff, AFP during the ceremony that was presided over by General Romeo S. Brawner Jr. PA, Chief of Staff, AFP.
In his message, Gen. Brawner recognized Lt. Gen. Larida’s contributions to the organization and the leadership he provided during his tenure. “As the Vice Chief of Staff of the AFP, he carried a role that is both demanding and indispensable. Under his leadership, the OVCSAFP continued to perform its mandate with efficiency,” he said.
The leadership transition reflects the AFP's commitment to continuity, professionalism, and the uninterrupted performance of the Office of the Vice Chief of Staff in support of the organization’s mission.
The Change of Chief of Office ceremony reaffirmed the AFP’s commitment to orderly leadership transition as it continues to fulfill its constitutional mandate of protecting the people and securing the state.
