Here are the reasons I will choose living here over anywhere else!!☀️🌊
1. Life here isn't built around rushing. People actually slow down enough to enjoy where they are. Morning walks along the Marina, stopping for coffee and a pastel de nata, sunset dinners in the historic center... the lifestyle feels intentional.
2. You spend more time outside than inside. Everyday things feel better when you can end the day at Meia Praia or out on the water exploring the sea caves!!
3. Everyone here seems to have a greater appreciation for life... People are more present, more connected, and genuinely enjoy the little things.
4. Every beach and neighborhood around Lagos feels different. Some are quiet and laid back like Porto de Mós, some are more lively and social like the old town, and you can pick the vibe that fits you best.
5. There’s a strong sense of community here!! You constantly run into familiar faces at local tascas, events, coffee shops, and the Mercado Municipal.
6. Lagos still has pieces of "old Portugal". The 16th-century walls, the cobblestone streets, the dramatic limestone cliffs, and incredible natural beauty.
7. The quality of life is hard to explain until you live it. People spend more time with family and friends, prioritize experiences, and actually enjoy where they live.
8. You still get to experience seasons of the year!! It's sunny but not sweltering year-round. The quieter, mild winters, cooler mornings, and slower off-season make you appreciate the busy, vibrant summer months even more.
