Pursuant to information published by CMC on 8 July 2022, SEF and CMC have signed a protocol which will enable UK citizens residents in the council, to request their residency card in Loja Cascais.

Segundo informação publicada pela CMC a 8 de Julho de 2022, fruto do protocolo celebrado entre o SEF e a CMC, os cidadãos do Reino Unido residentes no concelho, poderão vir a requerer o cartão de residência na Loja de Cascais.

Britânicos residentes no concelho vão poder requerer o cartão de residência na Loja Cascais.

Driving Licences
Decree Law 46/2022, of 12 July, was published yesterday allowing motor vehicles to be driven by holders of driving licences issued by Member States of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). This exempts the exchange of driving licences, allowing driving in national territory with driving licences issued in those States, through the acknowledgement of foreign driving licences. This decree-law will enter into force on 1 August 2022.

Foi publicado ontem o Decreto-Lei 46/2022, de 12 de Julho, que procede à alteração do Código da Estrada habilitando a condução de veículos a motor pelos titulares de títulos de condução emitidos por Estados membros da Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa (CPLP) e da Organização para a Cooperação e Desenvolvimento Económico (OCDE). Dispensa-se, assim, a troca das cartas de condução, habilitando-se a condução no território nacional com títulos emitidos naqueles Estados, através do reconhecimento dos títulos de condução estrangeiros. O diploma entra em vigor a 1 de Agosto de 2022.

- TERMINATION BY THE TENANT AFTER 1/3 OF THE TERM AND PRIOR NOTICE TERMS - ARTICLE 1098, nº 3 of the CC
Pursuant to the law, termination of the contract may only occur after having elapsed 1/3 of the initial term of the contract or of its renewal. The prior notice terms established for these purposes in the law run simultaneously, provided that effects of the termination only occur after elapsing 1/3 of the contract.

Depois do acórdão do Supremo, já se registam casos de condomínios a notificarem proprietários de alojamento local e a pedirem o encerramento dos mesmos. ALEP diz que situação causa "receios" no setor.

OF FOREIGN QUALIFICATIONS - primary and secondary education
According to the Decree-Law 227/2005, of 28/12 (defines the system for granting the equivalence of qualifications from foreign education systems to qualifications from the Portuguese education system at the level of basic and secondary education), the documents proving the qualifications must be duly translated and certified when written in a foreign language, after being legalised (authenticated by the embassy or consulate or endorsed with the apostille of the Hague Convention for the countries that have adhered to the same).

DE HABILITAÇÕES ESTRANGEIRAS - básico e secundário
Segundo o Decreto-Lei 227/2005, de 28/12 (define o regime de concessão de equivalência de habilitações de sistemas, educativos estrangeiros a habilitações do sistema educativo português ao nível dos ensinos básico e secundário), os documentos comprovativos das habilitações, deverão ser devidamente traduzidos e certificados, quando redigidos em língua estrangeira, após serem legalizados (autenticados pela embaixada ou consulado ou com a apostilha para os países que aderiram à Convenção da Haia, de 5 de Outubro de 1961).

vs. Legalisation
- When asked for a certified translation what is meant is that you need the document translated and then have the translation certified by a notary or a lawyer.
- When asked to legalise your document what is meant is that for that document to be valid in a certain country you will need to comply with certain requirements that confirm the origin of the document and certifies its authenticity: either (i) endorse it with the Apostille of the Hague Convention (regarding countries members of the same) or (ii) comply with some requirements established by the Embassy or the consulate.
