here's a good basic article about buying property in Puerto Rico. Possibly a little bit dated. I would add that currently there are more and more buyer focused agents who can be relied on for your entire search in one particular region. it's equally hard for them as many of the same agents who only sell their listings are the ones they may need to contact in order to show to you. These agents may or may not be willing to cooperate with another agent. Nonetheless there are services like us, intrinsic Real Estate group Puerto Rico who are well networked with reputable agents and services and can consult with you and assist in your home search in many ways. As well, if you need financing that's a little bit underplayed in this article it is absolutely a possibility to get a loan on a Puerto Rican home through a local lender here. Paying cash or using a us home equity line of credit are certainly also possibilities but a traditional 30-year mortgage is also an advantage that US citizens can benefit from.
