Thinking about a Master's degree in Europe? The difference in tuition fees depending on which country you choose is bigger than most people realize and it can change your entire financial plan. 🎓
Poland sits at the most affordable end of the spectrum. Public universities charge between €2,000 and €6,000 per year for international students, with private universities ranging from €3,000 to €8,000. For the quality of education, EU-recognized degrees, and the overall cost of living in Polish cities, these numbers are genuinely hard to beat anywhere else on the continent.
France sits in the middle. Public universities come in at around €3,950 per year heavily subsidized by the French government but private institutions can climb to €20,000 and beyond depending on the program and institution.
The United Kingdom is in a completely different league. Public universities charge international students between £12,000 and £35,000 per year, with private institutions pushing even higher. A two-year Master's program in the UK can easily cost more than an entire undergraduate and postgraduate education combined in Poland.
But tuition is only part of the equation. Rent, living costs, student visa requirements, post-study work rights, and long-term residency pathways all need to factor into the decision. A cheaper degree in a country where you can legally work during your studies and stay after graduation is worth far more than an expensive one that leaves you with debt and no clear path forward.
Think beyond the tuition fees. Think about the full picture.
