📆 Po 4 latach obowiązywania specustawy i stopniowym stabilizowaniu się sytuacji - przechodzimy na systemowe, równe zasady dla wszystkich cudzoziemców w ochronie zdrowia, świadczeniach socjalnych, zatrudnieniu itd. To także dalszy rozwój cyfrowej administracji, rozliczenie środków pomocowych.

💍 Being in a relationship with a Polish citizen (or having a nikah) does not automatically protect you from losing legal residence!

Example: A foreigner was in a relationship with a Polish citizen and in the process of applying for temporary residence. They had a nikah & were planning to get married, but still postponing the formalities.

The office set a date for fingerprints. According to the office, the notice was delivered correctly. The foreigner did not attend the appointment and the application was left unprocessed. His residence in Poland became suddenly illegal (despite having the religious marriage)❗️

Instead of a smooth process, they faced a time crunch:
😧 checking the possibility of appealing the decision,
😧 accelerating plans for the civil marriage,
😧 gathering documents from the abroad,
😧 risk of leaving the country and uncertainty about returning.

⏳ At this stage, their options were already limited by time and procedural rules.

The Central Statistical Office has published a report on average wages for 2025. Based on this report, the minimum salary required for a Blue Card is now PLN 13,355.34 gross/month.

European Union Blue Card-> a residence permit for highly qualified employees 🔬🩺🧬

🇪🇺 Highly qualified non-EU workers can apply for an EU Blue Card, which allows them to live and work in the European Union

🇪🇺 The card is valid in all EU countries except Denmark and Ireland❗️

🇪🇺 What rights does a UE Blue Card give you?
✅ Entry, re-enter and reside in the EU country that issued the card
✅ Access to highly qualified employment in the EU country that issued the card
✅ Identical treatment to nationals in terms of working conditions, education and training, social security and access to services
✅ Family reunification on the basis of a permit valid for the same period as the card
✅ Accumulation of periods of residence in different EU countries with a view to applying for a long-term residence permit

🇺🇦 Polish government will be soon working on a bill ending the provisions of the special Ukrainian law.

🇺🇦 These special legal provisions have been in force continuously since 2022 due to the war in Ukraine. They are one of the reasons for the enormous delays and queues at offices regarding residence permits. Now the government is preparing to end them.

❓What the discussed changes will be?

👉🏻 possibility of replacing temporary protection with more stable forms of residence,
👉🏻 maintaining key benefits: PESEL UKR number as proof of legal residence, Diia.pl electronic document, access to the mObywatel app for refugees,
👉🏻 simplified rules for taking up employment and running a business,
❗️big changes to healthcare- rules will be similar to those applicable to Polish citizens when it comes to contributions and insurance,
❗️restricted access to free health care for uninsured people,
👉🏻 financial social aid will be for foreigners staying on humanitarian reasons or on the basis of a tolerated stay permit,
❗️additional Polish language lessons, preparatory units and simplified rules for the employment of teachers and intercultural assistants will be ending with this school year.

🇵🇱 Update on Polish citizenship rules ⤵️

Yesterday the Polish Parliament REJECTED a proposal for law changes, that would make obtaining Polish citizenship more difficult, submitted by the right-wing party (P*S).

The REJECTED project was supposed to change:
📌 extending the period after which one could apply for Polish citizenship to 10 years
📌 increasing the Polish language knowledge to C1 level

👉🏻 As we reported last year, these changes were very restrictive for foreigners. The chance that such restrictive regulations will return is practically zero.

👉🏻 The government's draft amendments are still being prepared and will still be voted in the Parliament. The same applies to work on introducing a test of knowledge about Poland. As always, we will keep you informed about current changes.
