**🚨 THINK AN AUDIT AUTOMATICALLY FAILS AFTER THE FINANCIAL YEAR? THINK AGAIN.**

⚖️ The Lahore High Court has clarified an important point of tax law.

A taxpayer argued that an audit under **Clause 72B** became invalid because it was not completed within the same financial year.

**The Court disagreed.**

Here's what the judgment tells us:

✔️ Clause 72B is **not** a limitation provision.

✔️ Audit proceedings remain valid even if they continue beyond the financial year.

✔️ Taxpayers must actively participate in audit proceedings and file objections when invited under **Section 177(6).**

✔️ Courts are unlikely to interfere where the taxpayer has not demonstrated any jurisdictional defect.

📖 **Lesson:** Winning a tax case is not just about what the law says—it also depends on how the taxpayer conducts the proceedings.
