بہت سی خواتین کا سوال ہوتا ہے کہ شادی کے بعد شناختی کارڈ شوہر کے نام پر تبدیل کروانے کے لیے کیا شوہر کا ساتھ جانا ضروری ہے یا والد یا بھائی کے انگوٹھے کی ضرورت ہوتی ہے؟ قانون کے مطابق اگر نکاح رجسٹرڈ ہے اور نکاح نامہ موجود ہے تو خاتون خود بھی National Database and Registration Authority کے دفتر جا کر اپنا CNIC شوہر کے نام پر اپڈیٹ کروا سکتی ہے، اس کے لیے عموماً اصل نکاح نامہ یا کمپیوٹرائزڈ میرج سرٹیفکیٹ دکھانا پڑتا ہے اور شوہر کی موجودگی ضروری نہیں ہوتی، نہ ہی والد یا بھائی کے انگوٹھے کی ضرورت ہوتی ہے۔ دوسری اہم بات یہ ہے کہ اگر بیوی پنجاب سے ہے اور شوہر کراچی یا کسی دوسرے شہر سے ہے تو بھی شناختی کارڈ پورے پاکستان میں کسی بھی National Database and Registration Authority سنٹر سے تبدیل کروایا جا سکتا ہے، اس کے لیے مخصوص صوبے میں جانا لازمی نہیں ہوتا۔ اس لیے خواتین آسانی سے قانونی طریقے سے اپنا شناختی کارڈ شوہر کے نام پر اپڈیٹ کروا سکتی ہیں۔

Many women ask whether the husband must accompany them to change their CNIC after marriage or if the father or brother’s thumb impression is required. According to the legal procedure, if the marriage is registered and the Nikah Nama is available, the woman can visit the office of the National Database and Registration Authority herself and update her CNIC with her husband’s name. Usually, the original Nikah Nama or computerized marriage certificate is required as proof, and the presence of the husband is generally not mandatory. Another important point is that even if the wife belongs to Punjab and the husband lives in Karachi or another city, the CNIC can still be updated at any National Database and Registration Authority center anywhere in Pakistan, so there is no restriction to a specific province.

اگر کسی شادی شدہ خاتون کو کوئی شخص تصویروں یا ویڈیوز کے ذریعے بلیک میل کرے، دھمکی دے کہ وہ ویڈیو لیک کر دے گا یا اس کے بدلے پیسے مانگے، تو یہ پاکستان کے قانون کے مطابق سنگین جرم ہے۔ ایسی صورت میں خاتون فوراً قریبی پولیس اسٹیشن میں جا کر FIR درج کروا سکتی ہے یا Federal Investigation Agency کے سائبر کرائم ونگ میں شکایت دے سکتی ہے۔ اس جرم پر عام طور پر Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 کی دفعہ 20 (Blackmail/Extortion)، دفعہ 21 (Privacy Violation) اور پاکستان پینل کوڈ کی دفعہ 384 (Extortion) اور 506 (Criminal Intimidation) لگ سکتی ہیں۔ خاتون کو چاہیے کہ وہ ثبوت جیسے چیٹس، کال ریکارڈ، اسکرین شاٹس یا ویڈیوز محفوظ رکھے اور ایک سادہ تحریری درخواست میں مکمل واقعہ لکھ کر پولیس یا FIA سائبر کرائم ونگ کو دے دے، جس کے بعد فوری کارروائی ہو سکتی ہے اور ملزم کو گرفتار کر کے سزا دلائی جا سکتی ہے۔

If a married woman is being blackmailed by someone using her photos or videos and the person threatens to leak them or demands money, it is a serious criminal offense under Pakistani law. The victim can immediately lodge an FIR at the nearest police station or file a complaint with the Cyber Crime Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency. Such acts are punishable under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 including Section 20 (Blackmail/Extortion), Section 21 (Violation of Privacy), and also under Pakistan Penal Code Sections 384 (Extortion) and 506 (Criminal Intimidation). The woman should save all evidence such as chat messages, call recordings, screenshots, or videos and submit a written application explaining the incident, after which legal action can be taken and the accused may be arrested and punished according to the law.
