📢 Important Update on Family Law in Punjab! ⚖️
Did you know? Under the Punjab Family Courts (Amendment) Act 2015, Section 5(10), if a wife files for Khula (dissolution of marriage) after having received her Haq Mahr (Dower), she is only legally bound to return 25% of it back to her husband.
This rule applies regardless of whether the Rukhsati (consummation/cohabitation) has taken place or not, as reaffirmed by the Supreme Court.
