The Specific Relief Act. 1877.

Section No. 5 Specific Relief Act.
Specific Relief how given;-

a. By taking possession of certain property and delivering it to complainant.

b. By ordering a party to do the very act which he is under an obligation to do.

c. By preventing a party from doing that which he is under an obligation not to do.

d. By determining and declaring the rights of the parties otherwise then by an award of compensation; or

e. By appointing a receiver.

Section No. 6 Preventive Relief. Specific relief granted under clause (c) of Section 5 is called Preventive Relief.

Proposed Amendments Finance Act 2023 : RESIDENT INDIVIDUAL : The scope of the definition of resident individual has been further expanded through insertion of clause (d) to section 82. Now a person being a citizen of Pakistan whose stay in any other country is not more than one hundred and eighty-two (182) days during a tax year or who is not a resident taxpayer of any other country will also be treated as resident individual for the purpose of this ordinance.
