Here are the pre-requisites and ingredients for filing of a claim in Banking Court.
Section 9, 10 and 11 are the back bone of “Financial Institutions Ordinance 2001”
It deals with:
1) Pre-requisite for filing of a suit
2) ingredients of a suit
3) Requirements of Leave to defend
4) Interim decree
Every law student or a banking law practitioner must keenly study these sections to be able to represent any financial institution in the court.

Most consumer cases aren’t lost on evidence; they’re lost on procedure.

As a practicing consumer lawyer in Multan, I regularly see consumers lose otherwise strong cases because of one basic mistake:

Ignoring or delaying the mandatory legal notice under Section 28 of the Punjab Consumer Protection Act, 2005.

📌 Key point:
A legal notice must be served within 15 days from the accrual of the cause of action. Missing this requirement can be fatal to your claim, no matter how genuine the grievance is.

Another common mistake is sending the notice to the wrong party.
For example, when a company provides a defective product or poor service, claimants often address the notice to an employee or salesperson. This is legally incorrect.

✅ The correct approach:
The legal notice must be addressed to the company or legal entity whose product you purchased or whose service you used, not an individual employee.

Whether the issue involves defective products, deficient services, or unfair trade practices, consumer law offers strong protection, but only when its procedure is followed correctly.

I regularly appear before Consumer Courts and Special Courts in Multan, handling matters related to:

• Consumer Law
• Banking Law
• Labour Law
• Criminal Law
