Press Release
Young Lawyers Association, Malakand Division
The Young Lawyers Association, Malakand Division, strongly condemns the unlawful and disgraceful conduct of SHO Behramand Shah in connection with the tragic incident concerning our late colleague, Advocate Mian Asim Shah.
Firstly, we note with great concern that although his bail before arrest (BBA) was cancelled, the accused SHO failed to appear before the Honourable High Court. Instead, his representatives misled the Court by claiming that he was present at the police station, whereas in reality he was not found there at the relevant time. Such deception and blatant disregard for the rule of law cannot be tolerated.
Furthermore, we strongly condemn the act of the said SHO in bringing with him a group of individuals, dressed in white suits, into the court premises, where they attempted to intimidate and harass members of the legal fraternity through provocative speeches, physical pushing, and even assaults. Despite this shameful aggression, the lawyers’ community displayed admirable restraint and managed the situation in a peaceful and dignified manner.
The Young Lawyers Association stands united with the entire legal community in denouncing these acts of violence, deceit, and abuse of authority. We demand immediate and strict action against SHO Behramand Shah, both for the murder case and for his subsequent misconduct before the Honourable Court.
On behalf of the lawyers’ community, we reaffirm our commitment to the supremacy of law, protection of the dignity of the bar, and the pursuit of justice for our departed colleague.
