Important Update about IRIS portal & Income Tax Return 2026:

We are pleased to inform our valued members that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has introduced several significant improvements to the IRIS and Income Tax Return Portal, taking into account the valuable feedback of taxpayers and tax professionals of Sohail Siraj Groups.

According to the update, the following enhancements have been implemented:

• The issue relating to "Unstructured Property" has been resolved.

• A facility has been provided for non-residents to opt out of filing a Wealth Statement, where legally applicable.

• A separate reporting mechanism for immovable property has been introduced for non-residents, replacing the previous requirement to file a Wealth Statement.

• A new facility has been added to allow the entry of IBANs for foreign currency accounts and other bank accounts in the Wealth Statement.

• The option to declare Business Capital in the Wealth Statement has now been enabled for Associations of Persons (AOPs) and companies.

These improvements are expected to make the return filing process more efficient and address several practical issues highlighted by the taxation community.
