The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) has levied a penalty of Rs150 million on Mezan Beverages (Pvt) Ltd for marketing its “Storm” energy drink in a manner that closely resembled PepsiCo’s well-known “Sting.”
The CCP found that similarities in the bottle design, colour combination, packaging and overall branding were likely to mislead consumers in violation of the Competition Act, 2010.
