Punjab revenue authority (PRA) has revised its rates in finance bill 2026 which will be applicable from 1 July 2026 till 30 June 2027
The rate of 5% has been amended to 8% on all debit/credit card transactions.

The Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan held that Section 7E of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, inserted through the Finance Act, 2022, is unconstitutional and void ab initio. The Court noted conflicting judgments of various High Courts, where Peshawar and Balochistan High Courts had already struck down the provision, while Sindh and Lahore High Courts had upheld it.
