Today i.e. May 20, 2026 (Wednesday), the oath taking ceremony of the newly appointed Additional District & Sessions Judges (02) and Civil Judge-cum-Magistrates (39) held in the Punjab Judicial Academy. The Hon’ble Justice Miss Aalia Neelam, the Hon’ble Chief Justice Lahore High Court Lahore graced the ceremony along with Hon’ble Mr. Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh, Senior Puisne Judge, Lahore High Court, Lahore and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Malik Muhammad Awais Khalid, Judge, Lahore High Court, Lahore.
Hon’ble Director General Mr. Justice (R) Sardar Ahmad Naeem, Registrar LHC, DG (DDJ-LHC), D&SJ (HR-District Judiciary), DG (J&CM-LHC), Directors and Faculty members of the Academy also attend the event. In the oath ceremony, the families of the newly appointed judges are also invited to witness this significant occasion.
Raja Qamar-uz-Zaman, Registrar administered the oath from the newly appointed judges. In the opening address, Hon’ble Director General, PJA PJA, highlighted the outstanding performance of the Academy under the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Chairperson of PJA and assured that the Academy would continue to focus on the grooming and professional development of judicial officers to help them become competent and upright judges
Her ladyship during her address, emphatically impressed upon judges to be impartial, neutral, to have focused purely on their judicial work with honesty and fair play without any prejudice, favor or involving in nepotism. She also vociferated not to be indulged in any way in any malpractice and only to impart themselves knowledge of Law for the enhancement of their legal acumen.
Top-performing judges from across the District Judiciary Punjab, including Model Courts, were also invited and awarded certificates in recognition of their outstanding performance.
On the occasion, the Hon’ble Chief Justice also inaugurated the newly established state-of-the-art PJA E-Studio (Audio Suite) and appreciated the Academy’s efforts in embracing the new era of digital transformation in judicial education.
