PRU Chairman Aamer Rafique Qureshi Discusses Food Safety, Restaurant Industry & Business Environment at Lahore Chamber

لاہور چیمبر آف کامرس اینڈ انڈسٹری (LCCI) کے صدر جناب فہیم الرحمٰن سہگل نے محترمہ سلمیٰ بٹ اور چیئرمین پاکستان ریسٹورنٹس یونٹی ایسوسی ایشن (PRU) عامر رفیق قریشی کا لاہور چیمبر میں خیرمقدم کیا۔

صدر لاہور چیمبر نے کہا کہ محفوظ خوراک کی فراہمی، بہتر کاروباری ماحول اور ریسٹورنٹ انڈسٹری کا تحفظ ہماری مشترکہ ذمہ داری ہے۔ حکومت، چیمبر اور ریسٹورنٹ نمائندوں کے درمیان مسلسل رابطے سے ہی مسائل کا بہتر حل نکل سکتا ہے۔ انہوں نے یقین دلایا کہ لاہور چیمبر کاروباری برادری کے جائز مسائل کو متعلقہ اداروں تک پہنچانے میں اپنا کردار ادا کرتا رہے گا۔

وزیراعلیٰ پنجاب کی معاون خصوصی برائے فوڈ سیفٹی اینڈ کنزیومر پروٹیکشن محترمہ سلمیٰ بٹ جس سنجیدگی اور محنت کے ساتھ فوڈ سیفٹی کا نظام بہتر بنانے کے لیے کام کر رہی ہیں وہ قابلِ تعریف ہے۔ ان کی کوشش ہے کہ پنجاب کے عوام کو محفوظ، صاف اور معیاری خوراک فراہم کی جائے۔

اس موقع پر Aamer Rafique Qureshi, Chairman Pakistan Restaurants Unity Association (PRU) نے کہا کہ PRU کا مؤقف بالکل واضح ہے۔ ہم قانون کی پاسداری کرتے ہیں اور ایکسپائر اشیاء، ناقص صفائی یا غیر معیاری خوراک کی کسی صورت حمایت نہیں کرتے۔

لیکن اگر کسی ریسٹورنٹ میں کسی ایک ملازم کی غلطی ہو تو ذمہ دار شخص کے خلاف کارروائی کی جائے، جرمانہ کیا جائے اور غلطی فوری درست کروائی جائے۔ پورا ریسٹورنٹ بند کرنا اور سوشل میڈیا پر اس کی بدنامی کرنا مناسب حل نہیں کیونکہ اس سے برسوں میں بننے والی ساکھ، سینکڑوں ملازمین کے روزگار اور کروڑوں روپے کی سرمایہ کاری متاثر ہوتی ہے۔

اس طرح کے اقدامات سے مقامی، اوورسیز اور غیر ملکی سرمایہ کار بھی کاروبار کرنے سے گھبراتے ہیں۔

PRU وزیراعلیٰ پنجاب محترمہ مریم نواز شریف کے مثبت اقدامات خصوصاً کیری بیگز پر غیر ضروری وصولی روکنے کے فیصلے کو سراہتی ہے۔

پاکستان ریسٹورنٹس یونٹی ایسوسی ایشن حکومت کے ساتھ، ریسٹورنٹ مالکان کے ساتھ اور اس صنعت سے وابستہ ملازمین کے ساتھ کھڑی ہے۔ ہمارا مقصد ٹکراؤ نہیں بلکہ تعاون، رہنمائی اور بہتر پالیسی کے ذریعے محفوظ خوراک، مضبوط کاروبار، محفوظ روزگار اور سرمایہ کاری کے اعتماد کو فروغ دینا ہے۔

On 14 August 2026, Poet Hospitality Group created a historic milestone by celebrating Pakistan’s Biggest Azaadi Cake Cutting in the Restaurant History of Pakistan at Poet Mughlai & Poet Rooftop Garden, Lake City Mall, Lahore.

🎂 The extraordinary approximately 1,000-pound Independence Day cake was proudly made by Poet Kitchens, showcasing the skill, dedication and teamwork of Poet’s own culinary team.

This was not just another 14 August celebration. It was an attempt to create something on a scale never before witnessed in Pakistan’s restaurant industry for Independence Day.

Thousands of moments, countless photographs and one unforgettable celebration came together under the green and white flag of Pakistan.

From the original idea to the preparation of the massive cake by Poet Kitchens and finally to the historic cake cutting, Poet wanted to celebrate Pakistan differently and create a moment that Lahore and Pakistan’s restaurant industry could remember for years to come.

The Punjab Food Authority hosted the official inauguration ceremony of the Restaurant Star Rating Application, Automated Inspection Scheduling Application and Consumer Protect Application at Avari Hotel Lahore on 30 July 2026. The ceremony was held under the broader framework of the Food Safety & Consumer Protection Department, Government of the Punjab and focused on strengthening food safety, restaurant standards, transparent inspections and consumer protection through digital reforms.

Highly delighted to be a part of the inauguration ceremony of Food Expo Plus 2023 organized by Punjab Food Authority under the leadership of DG PFA Mr Mudassir Riaz Malik.

The honorable Chief Minister of Punjab, Mr. Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated along with the DG of Punjab Food Authority Mudassir Riaz Malik, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FPCCI) Mr. Irfan Iqbal Sheikh and myself as Chairman Pakistan Restaurants Unity Association.

Food Expo 2023 is the brainchild of Mr. Mudassir Riaz Malik who is running the Punjab Food Authority in at its best and introducing Food Expo 2023 is a great step forward by him. Mr. Irfan Iqbal Sheikh is also contributing towards betterment of business community from the platform of FPCCI.

We are in need of events like Food Expo Plus 2023 as they build a strong reputation for Pakistan in the hospitality niche. Also, the scope of food tourism in Pakistan will exponentially increase which in turn will help Pakistan’s economy and make Pakistan capable enough to compete with others.
