Appeared before the Hon’ble Divisional Bench of the High Court of Sindh, comprising Justice Yousuf Ali Sayeed and Justice Osman Ali Hadi, in a Constitutional Petition filed against the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue, wherein the appeal of the taxpayer is pending adjudication. The sales tax registration of the taxpayer had been suspended and subsequently blacklisted; however, the Hon’ble Tribunal failed to issue any notice of hearing despite the filing of a stay application as well as an urgent application.

Upon hearing the matter, the Hon’ble Divisional Bench was pleased to call for a report from the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue regarding the pending sales tax appeal and directed the office concerned to fix the case for hearing within one week.

The Honourable Special Court (Customs & Taxation) was pleased to grant post-arrest bail to my client. The Rangers Wing-72 had conducted a raid at Noriabad, opposite the Lucky Cement Factory, during which the accused alleged to be the owner of a petrol pump was arrested. It was further alleged that 9,300 liters of Iranian diesel were recovered from the premises. Subsequently, the custody of the accused as well as the seized goods was handed over to the Anti-Smuggling Organization (Customs).
