CONDEMNATION
The Activitist Lawyers Forum strongly condemns the illegal abduction, torture and unlawful detention of the cousins namely Mr. Sarwan Kumar on 6th of march 2025, Mr. Parkash Kumar on 7th of March 2025 and Mr. Ramesh Kumar on 8th of March 2025, of our member namely Mr. Raj Kumar Advocate, by police officials in New Chor, District Umerkot, under the command of S.H.O Noor Muhammad Shar and the supervision of S.S.P Uzair Ahmed Memon. These individuals were taken into custody without any legal justification, without lodging an FIR, and in clear violation of fundamental rights and due process. Furthermore, an illegal raid on the house of cousins of Mr. Raj Kumar, Advocate without any warrant or permission, which is totally intolerable as per law, also using insulting language with our member Raj Kumar by the police officials in P.S Chor, District Umerkot.
After being subjected to severe torture and inhumane treatment, Sarwan Kumar and Parkash were released on March 9-2025. However, Ramesh remains in illegal detention, and there is still no explanation from the authorities regarding the basis of his abduction. The continued unlawful detention of Ramesh raises grave concerns about custodial abuse, police brutality, and violation of constitutional rights.
The Activist Lawyers Forum demands from the concerned law authorities including I.G police Sindh, D.I.G Mirpurkhas to Immediate and unconditional release of Mr. Ramesh from illegal custody. A clear and transparent explanation from S.H.O Noor Muhammad Shar and S.S.P Uzair Ahmed Memon regarding these unlawful detentions and the specific reasons for targeting Advocate Raj Kumar’s family including his cousins. Also, we demand to provide security of our member and his family.
