We are proud to announce that Barrister Babar Chambers has been actively engaged in high-profile constitutional and banking law litigation concerning unauthorized digital transaction claims previously decided against our client, Allied Bank Limited, by the Banking Mohtasib Pakistan and the President’s Secretariat.

Over the past year, multiple constitutional petitions were filed on behalf of Allied Bank Limited before the Islamabad High Court, Lahore High Court (Rawalpindi Bench), and Peshawar High Court, challenging adverse determinations arising from complaints relating to unauthorized electronic fund transfers. In all matters, the Hon’ble High Courts were pleased to suspend the impugned proceedings, recognizing serious legal and jurisdictional questions.

Reliance was placed on 2025 CLD 834, which authoritatively clarifies the scope and limits of the Banking Mohtasib’s jurisdiction in disputes involving unauthorized digital transactions. These proceedings reflect the evolving legal landscape governing digital banking disputes in Pakistan, where judicial scrutiny of regulatory process, procedural fairness, and statutory authority remains paramount.

Barrister Babar Chambers continues to represent financial institutions in complex banking, regulatory, and constitutional litigation, and remains committed to providing top-tier legal representation in this rapidly developing area of law.

Lawyers' Medical Rights Petition Filed in Peshawar High Court

A writ petition is filed by Hamza Khurshid Advocate in the Peshawar High Court represented by Barrister Babar Shahzad Imran, seeking implementation of Section 11 of the Lawyers Welfare and Protection Act, 2023. The petition argues that lawyers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are being denied medical facilities guaranteed under the Act.

Section 11 entitles advocates, spouses, parents, and minor children to medical treatment at par with gazetted officers (BPS-17 & 18) in government hospitals upon presentation of official cards and Bar Council verification.

The petition seeks: Immediate implementation of Section 11 in Parity with Punjab, where the Lahore High Court has directed implementation of the same

The bench comprising Justice Syed Arshad Ali and Justice Faheem Wali has noticed the petition to the respondents, including Federation of Pakistan and Provincial Government of KP for comments.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has halted the controversial trial against human rights activist Imaan Mazari and her husband Hadi Ali Chattha, declaring that the proceedings do not appear to meet fair trial standards.

What unfolded inside the courtroom today raised serious questions about justice, due process and the conduct of the trial court.
