💥 The federal government on Tuesday (September 28) approved a ‘national action plan’ (NAP) for Business and Human rights to ensure that ‘all businesses comply with human rights, news sources reported. Following the cabinet’s approval, Pakistan will become the third Asian and first South Asian country to have this plan
💥 Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry, in a press conference, said that after the approval of the plan, Pakistan will become one of the first countries in South Asia to enact such a framework – in compliance with the United Nations Human Rights Commission.
💥 He said that implementation of this plan will help end all sorts of discrimination at the workplace, and ensure labour, health, and safety standards. The NAP was presented by the Ministry of Human Rights to improve the business and human rights situation of the country.
