The Lahore High Court has given a very important decision on workplace harassment and it’s good news, especially for working women.

The court said something very clear : Harassment is about misuse of power, not about location. If a boss or senior harasses a junior employee through messages, phone calls, visits, or pressure outside the office, it is still workplace harassment. Abusers can no longer say, “It didn’t happen in the office, so it doesn’t count.”

Facts of the Case :
In this case, a government officer was removed from service for harassing a subordinate. He tried to challenge the decision, but the court rejected his plea and supported the findings of the Punjab Ombudsperson.

The court also made two important points:

1. Harassment inquiries are disciplinary, not criminal; so they can continue even if a criminal case is also going on.
2. Victims should not be forced to meet impossible standards of proof. Messages, patterns of behavior, and digital evidence matter.

This decision strengthens the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act, 2010 and closes loopholes often used by powerful people to escape accountability.

Successfully conducted a Youth Roundtable Dialogue on “Justice Starts With Us: Youth, Law, Climate, and the Power of Civic Responsibility” at the Law College, University of Peshawar.

This roundtable was not just an event, it was an invitation for young law students to pause, reflect, and take ownership of their role in society. Rooted in the idea of learning, unlearning, and relearning, the dialogue created a space where students engaged honestly with questions of legal rights, civic duties, responsible leadership, digital ethics, and environmental justice.

Through open discussions and a hands-on mock electoral simulation, participants experienced firsthand how democracy functions, how emotions and narratives shape voting behavior, and why questioning promises is as important as exercising the right to vote. Conversations around digital rights and online safety highlighted how the law serves as a shield in everyday life, while discussions on climate justice helped students connect environmental protection with human rights and legal responsibility especially for communities that bear the greatest impact.

What stood out most was the willingness of students to challenge old mindsets and move beyond a culture of complaint. The energy in the room reflected a growing realization that civic responsibility is not limited to election days or courtrooms, but is practiced daily through informed choices, ethical engagement, accountability, and service.

I am deeply grateful to Chanan Development Association (CDA) and partners for their trust, support, and belief in youth-led civic education. My sincere appreciation to the law college Administration, especially The Coordinator, Principal, the staff and admin and the students whose curiosity, honesty, and critical thinking gave this dialogue its true meaning.

And Special recognition to the wonderful team members; Aleena, Abdullah and sabawoon.
Experiences like these reaffirm that justice does not begin with power or authorityit begins when informed citizens decide to engage, question, and lead with responsibility

Founder Legal rights Insight

Grateful to have been part of the National Youth Peace Festival 2025 in Lahore, organized by the Chanan Development Association (CDA) Pakistan. The two days NYPF was less like a formal event and more like a spark. A spark of ideas, conversations, and hope that reminded me why young people matter so much in shaping what’s next.

The theme this year, “Driving Impact – Reimagining Future: Youth Power for a Cohesive, Resilient, and Dignified Future,” wasn’t just a headline, it was alive in every corner of the space. From passionate debates to powerful stories, it was a celebration of what happens when youth dare to imagine and act. It pushed us to think beyond challenges, to reimagine systems, and to believe that a better tomorrow is possible when youth lead with purpose and courage.

What stood out most was the mix of people; politicians and policymakers, civil society leaders, activists, Journalists, Youth and and dreamers, all under one roof, all believing in one thing: that a better, more inclusive, and peaceful future is possible when we build it together.

I’m leaving NYPF 2025 with more hope, more clarity, and more drive because this gathering proved that change doesn’t start in big offices or fancy plans… it starts right here, with us.

We are truly humbled and grateful to share that our Founder and Master Trainer was selected for the 6th Next Generation Leadership Institute (NGLI) and honestly, these 4 days have been some of the most meaningful and transformative days of his journey so far.

NGLI was not your usual training — it was a space to pause, reflect, unlearn, and grow. Instead of PowerPoint slides and lectures, there were honest conversations, heartfelt stories, and powerful activities that challenged perspectives and redefined what leadership truly means.

Throughout the program, participants explored the heart of non-profit work — its purpose, structure, challenges, and impact — while learning how empathy, inclusion, sensitivity, and courage shape meaningful change. From advocacy, politics, human rights, democracy, and peacebuilding to the art of storytelling and policy influence, every session was a masterclass in leading with purpose and conviction.

But above all, it was the people 💙 30 passionate, fearless, and purpose-driven young leaders from across Pakistan who made this experience unforgettable. Each conversation was filled with hope, every story carried strength, and every shared moment reminded us why we do what we do: because real change begins when hearts and minds come together.
