⚖️ Bringing Legal Aid Closer to the Community 💜

Justice becomes more meaningful when it reaches people where they are.

The IBP North Cotabato Chapter joined the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) – Serbisyong Totoo Caravan in Barangay Bunawan, Tulunan, Cotabato, bringing free legal assistance closer to residents who may otherwise face difficulties in accessing legal services.

Through legal consultations and guidance, participating lawyers listened to the concerns of community members, helped clarify their legal rights and options, and provided practical advice on matters affecting their families and daily lives.

Beyond the legal assistance provided, the activity served as a reminder that the practice of law is not confined within courtrooms. It also calls upon lawyers to go beyond the usual places of practice and extend their knowledge and service to communities in need.

The IBP North Cotabato Chapter remains steadfast in its commitment to a legal profession that listens, serves, and reaches out—because access to justice should never be limited by distance.

And just like that, the season of becoming begins.

A familiar season returns, but every journey is different. And now, as the Bar draws closer, another chapter is ready to unfold.

It is the culmination of every step taken toward the Bar — and the beginning of everything that comes next.

The next chapter is ready to emerge.

Watch closely. The becoming begins.

June is closing, July’s about to start, and somewhere in between all the busy days, I stopped to realize: it’s been 2 years since I got my Juris Doctor degree. 🎓⚖️

Wow. Two years.

I hope, in my own little ways, I’m making my alma mater proud. Ateneo de Davao University College of Law didn’t just teach me the law, it kept drilling into me this one thing: be a person for others. I’m still trying to live that out, one small step at a time.

Honestly, that lesson started even before law school, way back in my undergraduate program days in ADDU (AB International Studies Major in Asian Studies). Ateneo had this way of grounding you. Every time things got too much, it was always the same nudge: slow down, go back to your why.

And looking back now… what I used to just pray for, quietly, hoping, I’m actually living it today. Wala akong ibang maisip kundi God’s mercy and provision. 🙏

So grateful for this whole journey. The lessons. The sleepless nights. The prayers that took their time but got answered anyway.

Happy anniversary, Ateneo de Davao University College of Law Batch 2024! ⚖️💜

Happy 128th Independence Day, Philippines! 🇵🇭

Yesterday, I spent a good part of my morning reviewing, signing, and printing a reply affidavit for a client’s case before the Ombudsman.

Exhausting? Yes. But the moment I put down that last page and took a breath, I felt something I can only describe as relief mixed with purpose.

That’s the lawyer life nobody really talks about, the long hours behind the scenes, the careful reading of every word, the weight of knowing that what you put on paper could change someone’s life. It is tiring. But it is also deeply fulfilling when you see it through to the end.

This Independence Day, I am reminded that the fight our heroes began in 1898 is not over. It simply changed its form. Today, the battle against injustice, violence, and corruption continues, in every complaint filed, every right defended, every voice given the chance to be heard.

As lawyers, as citizens, as Filipinos, this is our own quest for freedom. Not just for ourselves, but for the people who come to us with nothing but their truth and their trust.

To my clients, thank you for trusting me with your fight.

To my fellow lawyers, keep going. The work matters.

To every Filipino, Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan. 🇵🇭

May we never forget the meaning behind the celebration. 🙏⚖️♥️
