CNVD LAW'S WEBSITE DEFACED

CNVD Law Offices confirmed that their website had been defaced and that there was an attempt to hack it through a “brute-force attack.”

The law firm also assured the public and their clients that no client information, no case records, and no personal or financial data were stored on the website.

“We are aware that interest in CNVD Law rose after one of our partners appeared as a prosecutor in the impeachment proceedings. We leave the question of motive to the proper authorities. Our work continues as it always has,” their post on Sunday read.

Atty. Mae Divinagracia, one of the House private prosecutors in the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte, is a managing partner at CNVD Law.

Deep Web Konek, a Philippine-based cybersecurity advocacy group, posted a screenshot of the defaced website on Saturday. In the photo, the group responsible, “GrimSec Philippines,” claimed they did not mean to sabotage the website but only meant to send a message.

“First and foremost, we stand in solidarity with those who continue to uphold justice and fight for our beloved country. TO OUR CLIENTS AND FRIENDS

We received a report last night that our website, www.cnvdlaw.com, had been defaced. We acted on it right away, and we want to share what we found.

We confirm that there was an attempt to hack our website through a brute-force attack, which is a program that keeps guessing passwords until one works. However, the attempt was not successful.

Our website was NOT altered.

None of our pages were changed, replaced, or taken down. What the intruders did was create a new page at cnvdlaw.com/index.html, an address we never used. Most websites use index.html as their default landing page, so adding one there made it appear that our homepage had been hit. It had not.

As for the concern most people have raised with us:
1. Our website is purely informational. It holds nothing beyond what is publicly displayed on it.
2. There is no client information, no case records, no personal or financial data stored there.
3. It processes no transactions and generates no income.
4. Client files and communications are kept in separate, secured systems. These were never involved and remain untouched.

There was, quite simply, nothing there to take.

Nonetheless, we have moved the website to a more secure server as a precaution.

We are aware that interest in CNVD Law rose after one of our partners appeared as a prosecutor in the impeachment proceedings. We leave the question of motive to the proper authorities. Our work continues as it always has.

One reminder. Anything appearing outside our official pages is not ours, and we ask that it not be attributed to the Firm.

It was not.

The interruption was an automatic security safeguard triggered by the sudden surge in searches, a protective measure that engages precisely to guard against unauthorized access. Our team has since completed the necessary verification and checks. The website is secure, and it is safe to view.

Who is Mae Divinagracia?
