"HUWAG NILANG GAWING TANGA ANG TAUMBAYAN"

Davao City First District Rep. Paolo Duterte slammed Malacañang for what he described as a “new dictionary” under the “bangag na administrasyon,” after it denied that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. used the word “arrest” in relation to the apprehension of former Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Zaldy Co in the Czech Republic.

In a statement, Duterte noted that the administration seemed to be blaming the Filipino people for allegedly misinterpreting the president’s announcement.

“Tayo pa ang kailangang mag-adjust sa kanilang ‘creative writing.’ Kung ganito ang standard, kahit sino puwede na maging ‘truthful’—basta marunong magpalusot,” Duterte said.

“Sa totoo lang, hindi na ito simpleng semantics. Ito ay malinaw na pagtatakip. At habang abala sila sa pag-iikot ng salita, mas lalo lang lumalabas kung gaano nila gustong ilihis ang usapan sa mas malalaking isyu—lalo na sa korapsyon,” he added.
