READ: Breakdown of the alleged number of suitcases and amounts of cash supposedly delivered to former House Speaker Martin Romualdez, based on witnesses’ testimonies cited in Romualdez’s petition for bail.

MARTIN ROMUALDEZ FILES BAIL BID IN P7.4-B PLUNDER CASE

Former Speaker Martin Romualdez filed a petition for bail in his P7.4 billion plunder case arising from alleged flood control kickbacks, arguing that the evidence against him is not strong.

Romualdez, who is detained at the Quezon City Jail, said there is no proof that he knowingly committed or conspired with Zaldy Co to commit acts of plunder, or that he received cash-filled suitcases.

He cited recantations and conflicting affidavits involving the alleged cash deliveries.

He also said his participation in the budget process as Speaker does not prove that he used the office for a criminal purpose.

Senator-judge Raffy Tulfo raised questions on gun ownership to witness Police Maj. Jerickson Sangalang during the 30th day of the impeachment trial.

“Nagtataka lang ako, hindi ko alam na pwede pa lang mag-own as many fi****ms as you can. Ang isang tao pwede na magtayo ng private army, pwede na magtayo ng isang army na lalabanan ang gobyerno, pwede pa lang wantusawa up to 50, 60, 70 100. Atty. Carlo Joaquin Narvasa stated that the defense will no longer cross-examine witness PMAJ Jerickson Sangalang during the 30th day of the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday.

Senator-judge Raffy Tulfo described the presentation of Police Maj. Jerickson Sangalang as a “waste of time” during the 30th day of the impeachment trial.

The witness will tackle the fi****ms of Vice President Sara Duterte and her husband Atty. Mans Carpio.

“Nagtataka ako bakit kailangan pa talagang ilagay dito as witness itong si [Maj. Jerickson Sangalang]. Kasi what I know, ‘yung fi****ms pwedeng i-declare as personal property. Lahat naman siguro tayo, lahat ng senator-judges dito may baril, one way or another,” he said on Monday.

‘‘YUNG MALAKING PAPUTOK NAGING KWITIS’

Senator-judge Migz Zubiri said that they are looking for “bigger evidence” from the prosecution, as Police Maj. Jerickson Sangalang is set to testify on the fi****ms allegedly owned by Vice President Sara Duterte and her husband Atty. Mans Carpio.

“We just wanna make sure of the relevance of this particular evidence because many of us are fi****ms owners here, if not all members of the Senate… I don’t see there’s any violation that I feel would happen if they do that, if the Vice President done that,” he said on Monday.

MGA BARIL NINA VP SARA AT MANS CARPIO

PNP Fi****ms and Explosives Office Records Division Chief P/Maj. Jerickson Sangalang detailed the types and number of fi****ms registered to Vice President Sara Duterte and her husband, Atty. Manases Carpio, during the impeachment trial on Monday, Sept. 28.

Sangalang testified that Duterte owns a total of 22 fi****ms, consisting of 14 pistols, two revolvers, five r***es, and one sh***un.

Of the five r***es, three are classified as Class A light weapons, Sangalang said.

“Si Vice Pres. Sara po ay mayroong 22 fi****ms, meron po siyang 14 na pistol, dalawang revolver, limang r***e, of which tatlo po roon ay Class A light weapon, at isang sh***un,” Salangalang said.

“Si Atty. Mans Carpio ay mayroong 29 fi****ms, mayroon po siyang 16 pistol, dalawang revolver, isang sh***un, 10 r***e, isa po roon ay Class A light weapon, at mayroon siyang isang expired na firearm,” he added.
