The Regional Alternative Child Care Office (RACCO) XI recently conducted a courtesy call with the Department of Education (DepEd) Region XI, led by Regional Director Maria Ines C. Asuncion, CESO III, to strengthen institutional partnership and foster closer collaboration in advancing programs and services for children under alternative child care.
The meeting served as a valuable platform to discuss shared initiatives that will enhance coordination between RACCO XI and DepEd XI in promoting the welfare, protection, and educational inclusion of foster children, adopted children, and other children under alternative child care. Both agencies exchanged insights on strengthening existing support mechanisms and exploring collaborative efforts that will help ensure children receive quality education within a safe, inclusive, and child-friendly learning environment.
The discussion also underscored the importance of integrating child protection principles and learner support mechanisms into collaborative initiatives, recognizing that education plays a vital role in every child's growth, development, and successful integration into the community.
Joining the meeting were Mary Beth A. Dejacto, Technical Assistant II – Learner Rights and Protection Program, and Bonificio Jr. V. Amit, Project Development Officer II – Learner Rights and Protection Program, whose participation further reinforced the shared commitment of both agencies to uphold children's rights and strengthen protective measures within schools.
Through this strengthened partnership, RACCO XI and DepEd XI reaffirm their commitment to working hand in hand in developing responsive programs, enhancing inter-agency coordination, and creating more opportunities that empower children under alternative child care to thrive both inside and outside the classroom. Together, the two agencies continue to advance a shared vision of ensuring that every child is protected, supported, and given the opportunity to reach their full potential through accessible and inclusive education.
