Humbled and honored to join the roster of public interest lawyers in the International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Training organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). ⚖️✊

One of the most interesting things I learned is how ICRC works and how it changed my perspective about neutrality. In a political sense, silent neutrality might mean siding with the oppressor but today's discussion taught me that neutrality can also be viewed simply as equalizing the right to help the victims while at the same time calling out the perpetrator's deeds. In that way, it becomes logical to fix the problem not by putting the blame to the other but setting aside unimportant factors and doing what needs to be done as efficient as possible. 💪 It became their effective image of public trust and confidentiality.

Hoping for more learning opportunities like this in the future, when my budget permits. 🙏✨

Attended the Apostille Authentication Seminar with my fellow ADNU Lawyers. ⚖️💛🩵⚖️

Apostille is a legal certificate widely used across countries proving the authenticity of the contents of a document. This is mostly needed by Filipinos residing abroad when they submit documentary requirements in foreign agencies. Because of this lecture, we can assist our clients how to obtain Apostille in the nearest DFA offices nationwide.

Had a productive Friday afternoon after attending the 4th Capacity Building Seminar: Updates on Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and Jurisprudence with our esteemed resource speaker, Pros. Fred Nojara. 🤩

I have been following him since review days because of his comprehensive discussion of new landmark cases, not just in Criminal Law, but also in other subjects. I learned a lot from today's seminar, especially about the proper offenses in r**e cases involving minors. As a litigation lawyer, this is an important lesson for me so that I know what remedy, defenses, and prevailing case doctrines should I use in a particular case. 🤓📚

This law defines and penalizes gender-based sexual harassment committed against any individual in the following places:

🔰 Public spaces - privately-owned establishments such as restaurants, cafes, bars, clubs, malls, cinemas, hotels, resorts, internet shops, spas, etc.
🔰 Streets and public vehicles - public utility vehicles (PUVs), roads, sidewalks, alleys, terminals, parks, and app-based transport services (i.e., Grab car, Angkas, etc.)
🔰 Private institutions - schools, training institutions, workplaces, churches, spaces used as evacuation centers
🔰 Public and government facilities - government offices offering frontline services, public markets, washrooms, etc.
🔰 Online - using of information and communications technology such as social media applications, etc.
