Cotelco Employees and Community Multipurpose Cooperative

The COTELCO Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative (CEMPC) was organized and registered with the COOPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (CDA) Kidapawan City Extension Office on January 25, 1993 under Republic Act Nos. 6938 and 6939 with the following Board of Directors and Officers:

Its first operation managed by the members of the board and the officers limits on credit services, extending loans to members who are employees of the Cotabato Electric Cooperative, Inc. (COTELCO) with P2,500 share capital. After one year, member’s share capital was increased to P15,000 in order to have a bigger amount of multi-purpose loan for its members. In the year 2000 CEMPC entered into agreement with COTELCO to engage in contracting and manpower services. The cooperative has gone a lot of business ventures which the Board decided to hire a General Manager, Internal Auditor, Bookkeeper and Accounting Clerk to effectively manage its operation. Aside from the MPL, CEMPC is now extending additional three types of credit services: Commercial Loan, Car Loan and Lot Purchase Loan amounting to P300,000 each. Moreover, the coop was able to have its own office building with complete office facilities. With the amendments of CDA Law under Republic Act No. 9520, CEMPC amended its registered name to COTELCO Employees and Retirees Multi-Purpose Cooperative (CERMPC) and some provisions of the By-Laws to include coop’s authorized subscribed capital last December 8, 2009. At present, the coop is now offering various types of loans to its members, of course observing the 5 C’s of credit in granting the said services; operates its own Gasoline Station under Petron Corporation; expanding its Job Contracting Services; and currently commenced its Savings Mobilization Program.
