Today, Jamer Law, through its Managing Lawyer, filed a Complaint before the Insurance Commission on behalf of a policyholder involving a disputed claim for insurance proceeds.

Prior to entering the practice of law, Atty. KD spent more than a decade in the financial services industry as a financial adviser. That experience provided him with a unique perspective on the importance of insurance and the trust that policyholders place in their insurers when purchasing coverage for themselves, their families, and their businesses.

For many Filipinos, insurance represents years of sacrifice, discipline, and prudent financial planning. It is acquired with the expectation that when unforeseen circumstances arise, the protections provided under the policy will be available and accessible.

Having spent more than a decade helping individuals and families understand the value of insurance and financial protection, our Managing Lawyer recognizes the importance of ensuring that disputes concerning insurance claims are addressed through the proper legal processes. The filing of this Complaint seeks to avail of those processes and obtain a fair resolution of the parties’ respective claims and defenses.

Tonight’s conversation reminded us that some of the bravest journeys begin not with certainty, but with a decision to try. As a working mom preparing to enter law school after almost a decade away from the academe, Paulene asked us how she could best prepare herself for what lies ahead.

Our answer was simple: law school is not a sprint; it is a marathon.

There will be days when work demands your attention, when family comes first, when sleep is scarce, and when the readings seem endless. There will be moments when progress feels slow and the finish line feels distant. But law school is not won by those who move the fastest. It is completed by those who refuse to quit.

Being a working mother does not put you behind. In many ways, it means you already possess the resilience, discipline, sacrifice, and determination that law school demands.

Thank you for sharing your dreams with us tonight. We have no doubt that the road ahead will be challenging, but it will also be worth it. One class, one recitation, one exam at a time.

Keep going. Keep showing up. Keep believing.
