The Sambatan Law Clinic of MSU Marawi College of Law proudly participated in the ๐‚๐’๐€๐“ ๐…๐จ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ฆ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐‚๐’๐Ž ๐ƒ๐ข๐š๐ฅ๐จ๐ ๐ฎ๐ž with Member of Parliament Mohagher Iqbal held on February 9 to 10, 2026 at Dusit D2 Hotel in Davao City.

The two-day forum commenced with registration and opening preliminaries, followed by a comprehensive morning session featuring an in-depth discussion led by ๐€๐ญ๐ญ๐ฒ. ๐๐ž๐ง๐ž๐๐ข๐œ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐š๐œ๐š๐ง๐ข, Executive Director of the Institute for Autonomy and Governance, on the proposed amendments to the Bangsamoro Electoral Code under Parliament Bill 419. His presentation provided stakeholders with critical insights into the legal framework, key proposed changes, and their potential implications for the democratic processes within the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

The afternoon session was devoted to a meaningful and constructive dialogue between CSAT, civil society organizations, and Member of Parliament ๐Œ๐จ๐ก๐š๐ ๐ก๐ž๐ซ ๐ˆ๐ช๐›๐š๐ฅ. The exchange fostered open discussion on electoral reforms, transparency, accountability, and participatory governance, reinforcing the vital role of civil society in shaping inclusive and responsive institutions.

Day 2 focused on translating dialogue into concrete action. Participants revisited the highlights of the previous day, collaboratively drafted the CSAT Forum Joint Statement, and engaged in plenary presentation, revision, adoption, and signing of the statement. The forum also affirmed the CSAT Provincial Convenors per chapter and concluded with a plenary discussion on priority plans and coordinated strategies to sustain meaningful engagement among CSAT, civil society organizations, and the BARMM Government.

Representing the Sambatan Law Clinic were ๐Œ๐จ๐ก๐š๐ฆ๐ฆ๐š๐ ๐’. ๐Œ๐š๐ง๐จ๐›๐ซ๐š and ๐Œ๐จ๐ก๐š๐ฆ๐ฆ๐š๐ ๐‰๐š๐ฌ๐ข๐ฆ ๐€. ๐๐š๐ง๐ญ๐ฎ๐š๐ฌ, who actively contributed to discussions on the proposed amendments to the Bangsamoro Electoral Code and on strengthening collaborative efforts toward sustained engagement with the BARMM Government. Their participation reflects the Clinicโ€™s continuing commitment to policy discourse, legal reform, and community empowerment.

The Sambatan Law Clinic recently held a meaningful tribute honoring its graduands and welcoming new lawyers from the 2025 Bar Exam. The event opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony to inaugurate the new Sambatan Law Clinic office, led by the CLEP Director, Supervising Lawyers, and distinguished guests, followed by an invocation. In her Opening Remarks, CLEP Director Atty. Sharifa Sittie Zehada M. Jali reflected on the significant accomplishments and impactful work of the Sambatan Law Clinic over the previous semesters, underscoring its vital role in community service and legal education.

The event was attended by Prosecutor Atty. Nadjer D. Pinatara, Atty. Adly A. Umpa, Atty. Al Amen A. Bubong, and Atty. Jeanan Ashya M. Gubat, the Supervising Lawyers of the Sambatan Law Clinic, guests Atty. Suhaimen B. Lomondot and Atty. Reham P. Pandapatan.

The program honored our dedicated Graduands, introduced by Mohammad Manobra, with inspiring messages from the Supervising Lawyers and a heartfelt response from the graduandsโ€™ representative. Their hard work was recognized during the awarding ceremony led by the CLEP Director, Supervising Lawyers, and guests.

A proud and inspiring segment followed with the Introduction of New Lawyers by Mohammad Jasim Bantuas. We were exceptionally honored by the presence and moving testimonials of our 2025 Bar passers, Atty. Mohammad Mahid Mamainte, Atty. Sittie Aina C. Abdulmadid, and Atty. Asnimah M. Sanggacala. They generously shared their personal BAR Exam journeys and offered invaluable and practical tips on how they successfully conquered the 2025 Bar Exam, providing immense motivation for current and future bar candidates.

The ceremony continued with a Message from our guest Atty. Joanah C. Alinog Disocor, the Sarimanok Law Clinic Supervising Lawyer, offering wisdom for their professional journey. The event concluded with Closing Remarks from the Sambatan Law Clinic Supervising Lawyer and the IBP Lanao del Sur Chapter Legal Aid Chairperson Atty. Abdurahman A. Rasad, CPA, followed by a photo opportunity to commemorate this significant milestone.

The Sambatan Law Clinic and Ibp Lanao Del Sur, together with the Mindanao State University College of Law, successfully conducted a Jail Visitation at the Marawi City Jail today, December 11, 2025.

Our volunteer law students delivered short but meaningful lecture on โ€œRights of the Accusedโ€ and โ€œPlea Bargaining for Drug Cases,โ€ aiming to empower Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) with essential legal knowledge.

After the sessions, hygiene kits and food packs were distributed as part of our continuing commitment to service, compassion, and accessible justice for all.

Gratitude to all volunteers and partners who made this outreach possible. Together, we continue to bridge communities and uphold the dignity and rights of every individual.
