📣 DAY 2 | 3rd GFPS Annual General Assembly and FY 2027 GAD Planning and Budgeting Workshop

The Technological University of the Philippines (TUP) GAD Focal Point System (GFPS) continues its 3rd Annual General Assembly and FY 2027 GAD Planning and Budgeting Workshop today.

Day 2 focuses on strengthening the FY 2027 GAD Plans and Budgets through evidence-based gender analysis, responsive interventions, clear targets, and strategic budgeting aligned with the TUP GAD Agenda 2027–2032.

With the valuable technical guidance of Ms. Josephine Khaleen Moises-Sasuman, our Technical Resource Person, TUP GFPS members are working together to translate identified gender issues and gaps into meaningful, measurable, and gender-responsive GAD programs, activities, and projects (PAPs).

From reviewing FY 2026 accomplishments to crafting a stronger and more responsive FY 2027 GPB, we continue to strengthen our shared commitment to gender equality and inclusive development across the University.

Day 1 | 3rd GFPS Annual General Assembly and FY 2027 GAD Planning and Budgeting Workshop

The first part of the two-day 3rd GAD Focal Point System (GFPS) Annual General Assembly and FY 2027 GAD Planning and Budgeting Workshop has successfully concluded.

Representatives from all TUP campuses gathered to present and discuss the status of their GAD Plans and Budgets, highlighting accomplishments, emerging gender issues, implementation challenges, and priority areas for FY 2027.

The activity provided an important platform for reflection, coordination, and knowledge-sharing among the campuses as the University continues to strengthen gender mainstreaming and ensure that GAD-responsive programs, activities, and projects are aligned with the University’s gender priorities.

Together, we continue to move toward a more gender-responsive, inclusive, and transformative TUP. 💜

The TUP GAD Focal Point System (GFPS) will conduct its Annual Assembly and GAD Planning and Budgeting Seminar-Workshop for FY 2027 on September 9–10, 2026, in the Cavite Area.

The activity will bring together TUP GFPS members to review the implementation of the FY 2026 GAD Plan and Budget, identify priority gender issues and gaps, and develop responsive, evidence-based, and gender-responsive interventions for FY 2027.

We are honored to have Ms. Josephine Khaleen Moises-Sasuman as the Technical Resource Person for the GAD Planning and Budgeting Seminar-Workshop. Her expertise and guidance will help strengthen the capacity of TUP GFPS members in developing meaningful, gender-responsive, and results-oriented GAD Plans and Budgets.

Together, let us strengthen GAD mainstreaming across TUP and translate our commitment to gender equality into concrete and meaningful action.

Successfully conducted our Virtual Benchmarking with Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) on GAD Processes as we continue our journey toward strengthening and institutionalizing Gender and Development in TUP.

One of our biggest takeaways: Get the right people. People who believe, people who care, and people who are willing to champion gender equality—not because it is part of their job description, but because it is a commitment to meaningful change.

GAD is more than compliance. It is about transforming systems, challenging norms, creating inclusive spaces, and ensuring that gender equality becomes part of who we are as an institution.

And perhaps, the most important lesson of all:

What we do for GAD today is not only for us. It is the legacy we leave behind. 🌱💜

Thank you, BPSU, for sharing your experiences and practices with us. May this benchmarking inspire stronger partnerships and deeper commitment to gender-responsive governance.

“The Roles, Challenges, and Contributions of Indigenous Peoples in the Academic Community.”

As part of TUP’s continuing commitment to gender equality, inclusivity, cultural diversity, and respect for Indigenous Peoples, this study seeks to understand and recognize the experiences, roles, challenges, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples within the University.
