She's CG COMMODORE MITZIE SILVA-CAMPO, the first female general line officer to become a Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commodore! โฃ
CG Commodore Silva-Campo is a native of Digos City, Davao del Sur. She graduated top of her class under the Coast Guard Officers Course Class-1 โCโ (Makagitaw) in 2002. She acquired a masterโs degree in Maritime Law and Policy from the World Maritime University (WMU) Malmรถ, Sweden in May 2009.
Moreover, she accomplished her Juris Doctor Degree and Bachelor of Arts major in English with education units at Cor Jesu College, Inc. in Digos, Davao del Sur. She took up various training and courses related to maritime, including a comprehensive course on International Maritime Conventions and Ship Safety Inspection at the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Training Institute in Yokohama, Japan in 2011.
CG Commodore Silva-Campo currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Maritime Security Services (CG-14). Before her present assignment, she was designated as Commander of the Coast Guard Internal Audit Service and Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Education and Training.
From March 2016 to June 2019, CG Commodore Silva-Campo was deployed as the countryโs representative in the Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery Against Ships in Asia โ Information Sharing Centre (ReCAAP - ISC), a government international organization based in Singapore.
CG Commodore Silva-Campo, together with CG Commodore Ramon S Lopez, CG Commodore Joeven L Fabul, and CG Commodore Edgar L Ybaรฑez, will take an oath to Department of Transportation - Philippines (DOTr) Secretary Art Tugade next week.
