⚖️📚 To those who teach us more than the law—Happy World Teachers’ Day! 👩‍🏫👨‍🏫

Behind every future lawyer is a teacher who challenged us to think critically, speak boldly, and uphold what is right. From the classroom to the courtroom, your lessons go beyond the codal—they shape the advocates we aspire to become.

Today, we honor our professors and mentors who continue to guide, inspire, and empower the next generation of lawyers. Your wisdom is a lasting part of our journey.

Thank you for teaching us not only the law, but the purpose behind it. ⚖️❤️

Happy World Teachers’ Day to our incredible FEU Institute of Law professors and mentors! 🌟

We must know, we must care, and we must do something about it - Justice Karl B. Miranda

Yesterday’s event served as a reminder of the legal profession’s importance in maintaining a functional government despite the ongoing political turmoil.

We hope that this lecture has served as an eye-opener and an inspiration to our students in their undertaking as future legal professionals. May we all be the lawyers who contribute to the benefit of our society.

The FEU Law Student Council would like to extend its gratitude to Justice Karl B. Miranda for allowing the FEU Law community to delve deeper into anti-corruption law.

The success of this event would also not be possible without the help and the collective effort of the entire FEU Law community.

We want to thank the FEU Law admin, Dean Juan Arturo De Castro, Associate Deans Ma. Cecilia Gironella
& Dexter Dizon, and Ms. Karla Bayan-Rojas for their support and guidance throughout this event.

We would also like to thank our partner organizations, FEU Centralized Bar Operations, FEU Legal Aid Bureau, FEU Moot Court Council, and The Far Eastern Law Review.

Special thanks to our dedicated student volunteers, Karlo Tomas, Dennis Molina, Althea Alindayu, Kristine Gabinete, and Line Ramos.

Lastly, thank you to our students and professors for their active participation in this event.

Para sa bayan! 🇵🇭

Amid the chaos brought by massive corruption, uncertainty, and distrust of the government became evident. Many Filipinos were discouraged and even became apolitical after losing hope about the situation in the Philippines.

Yet behind all of this are those people who serve as beacons of hope and continually fight against corruption. One of those is our esteemed guest speaker, Justice Karl B. Miranda, who not only provided an insightful discussion on Anti-corruption law and jurisprudence but also showed the humanity behind the endeavor of championing against corruption.

Yesterday’s event serves as a reminder that there will be an end to all of this chaos. It especially advances the message about the legal profession’s collective role in anti-corruption practices.

We hope the lecture left a meaningful mark on all of you and ignited the drive to be champions against corruption.

Real freedom should not be measured solely by its physical presence. Freedom must be felt within the hearts and minds of every Filipino – freedom from poverty, freedom from corruption, freedom from the proliferation of dynasties, and freedom from political manipulation.

As we commemorate one of the most tragic events in Philippine history, let it not be remembered only as a moment in the past. Instead, let it serve as a lasting lesson of history that leaves a mark on our lives.

May the bloodshed of those who were victimized, the lives of those who spoke out, and the trauma experienced by many serve as guiding lights on the importance of remembering the horrors of Martial Law.

To move forward and bring real change to Philippine society, it is essential to reflect on these tragedies and carry the lessons learned.

Educators should not shame those still blinded by the greed of the powerful. Instead, they should foster compassion and continue to impart lessons and knowledge.

No one can move forward while still living in the shadow of the past.

NEVER FORGET. NEVER AGAIN.
