This is what machine-readable or structured invoice data means.

But under BIR RMC No. 98-2026, manually created invoices using these office productivity tools do not qualify as valid electronic invoices for tax compliance purposes.

A compliant e-invoice must come from an appropriate invoicing system and contain structured data that can be electronically processed and extracted.

Digital documents are not always electronic invoices.

But under BIR RMC No. 98-2026, a PDF is not automatically a compliant electronic invoice.

What matters is how the invoice is generated, whether the underlying data is structured and electronically extractable, and whether the system can support the BIR’s electronic invoicing requirements.

Digital-looking does not always mean BIR-compliant.

✅ Stock and Transfer Book
✅ employer registrations, if hiring
✅ annual GIS and financial statement filings
✅ beneficial ownership compliance

The corporation may already legally exist, but it still needs the proper systems and registrations to operate compliantly.

Think of SEC registration as the beginning of corporate compliance not the end.
