📣 STATEMENT OF SUPPORT OF GOVERNOR BOMBIT ADIONG TO ICM MACACUA

I extend my warmest congratulations to Chief Minister Abdulraof "Sammy Gambar" Macacua on his decisive victory in the historic first Bangsamoro parliamentary elections, and I am glad to reaffirm my personal and political support for his continued leadership as Chief Minister of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

Chief Minister Macacua and I have stood together through the long and difficult work of building this region — from regional governance to the day-to-day task of public service. I have always believed that the Bangsamoro's future is best served by leaders willing to build bridges across our differences, and it is in that same spirit that I extend my support to him today, a support I know is echoed by local leaders across Lanao del Sur. I know his sincerity, his discipline, and his love for the Bangsamoro, and I am confident that under his leadership, this new chapter of self-governance will be guided with wisdom and unity.

As Governor of Lanao del Sur, I reaffirm the Province's readiness to work hand in hand with the Bangsamoro Government under his leadership — to press forward on the programs that matter most to our communities, and to help carry the Bangsamoro forward as one people, one region, and one future.

Ang inyong lingkod ay naging parte ng kasaysayan ng dahil po sa inyo. Lahat po ng programang naihatid na ay ating ipagpapatuloy at makakaasa po kayo na ngayon pa lamang ay nagiisip na po tayo ng mga karagdagang programa para sa Bangsamoro People.

ANG NAG-IISANG MNLF MEMBER SA BAGONG BANGSAMORO PARLIAMENT

Si Parliament Representative-elect Junalyn Gayak-Sumlay, ang 16th nominee ng Bangsamoro Federalist Party, ang nag-iisang Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) member na naihalal sa Parliament matapos ang makasaysayang BARMM Parliamentary Elections.

Noong 2004, naging Youth Chair siya ng North East Kutawato State Revolutionary Committee ng MNLF sa ilalim ni Kagui Dadting Eman. Kabilang siya sa nanguna sa retraining ng mga kabataang miyembro upang mailayo sila sa recruitment ng mga armadong grupong tulad ng BIFF at ISIS.

Noong panahon naman ng Zamboanga Siege, naging bahagi siya ng core team ng C2C Program para sa PAMANA sa Regions 11 at 12, kasama si MNLF Vice Chairman Jimmy Labawan.

Tumulong din siya sa social preparation ng mga MNLF Peace and Development Communities (PDCs) mula taong 2010 hanggang 2011 upang magkaroon ng access sa mga proyektong PAMANA na ipinatupad mula 2012 hanggang 2014.

Sa kanyang pagkakahalal, patuloy na may boses at representasyon ang MNLF sa Bangsamoro Parliament at isa itong pagpapatuloy ng mahabang kasaysayan ng MNLF na naglatag ng mahahalagang pundasyon ng pakikibaka para sa karapatan sa self-determination at awtonomiya ng Bangsamoro.
