𝐈𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐬: Tanglaw Legal Aid Center conducted its FREE legal consultation today, October 9, 2026, at the Barangay Hall of Mataas na Lupa, Lipa City, continuing its efforts to bring legal assistance closer to local communities.

With the guidance of the supervising lawyers Atty. Anne Jhae Antes and Atty. Jed Paombong, and assistance of Atty. Nikko Macasaet, the Tanglaw interns attended to residents seeking assistance with various legal concerns, providing legal guidance and helping them identify the appropriate legal steps and remedies for their respective situations. Through these community-based initiatives, Tanglaw strives to promote legal awareness and empower individuals to make informed decisions when faced with legal challenges.

𝐈𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨: The Tanglaw interns conducted a court observation at the Regional Trial Court, Branch 12, Lipa City, presided over by Hon. Maria Concepcion Serrano-Altea

During the proceedings, the interns witnessed the hearing on the application for probation order, an arraignment, and a pre-trial conference. The interns also gained experience drafting a Compromise Agreement and a Special Power of Attorney with the help of supervising lawyers.

Through firsthand observation, the interns gained a practical understanding of how criminal proceedings are conducted. These experiences allowed them to connect their classroom learning with actual courtroom practice and deepen their appreciation of the judicial process.

𝐈𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨: The Tanglaw Interns conducted a courtroom observation at the Regional Trial Court (RTC), Branch 13, Lipa City, presided over by Hon. Judge Pamela T. Chavez-Izon. The observation provided the law student practitioners with firsthand exposure to actual court proceedings and the practical application of legal principles.

During the proceedings, the interns witnessed the plea-bargaining process, the grant of community service in lieu of imprisonment under the Community Service Act, and the manner by which counsels make stipulations and conduct the direct and cross-examination of witnesses.

The interns also observed drug-related proceedings where the Court scrutinized compliance with the rule on chain of custody and the requirements concerning body-worn cameras, emphasizing their significance in the proper presentation and evaluation of evidence.

The courtroom observation provided the Tanglaw Interns with valuable insights into courtroom procedure, evidentiary rules, and the practical application of legal principles in actual litigation.

𝐈𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨: The Tanglaw interns conducted a court observation at the Municipal Trial Court in Cities (MTCC) Branch 1, Lipa City, presided over by Hon. Jillian Kristin A. Deveza-Macasaet.

During the proceedings, the interns witnessed the promulgation of judgment, the promulgation of probation order, an arraignment, a pre-trial conference, the presentation of prosecution’s evidence, the formal offer of evidence, and the examination of witness.

Through firsthand observation, the interns gained a practical understanding of how criminal proceedings are conducted. These experiences allow them to connect their classroom learning with actual courtroom practice and deepen their appreciation of the judicial process.
