Its an ironic to hear from Tboli Tribe in Mindanao that they appreciated Cebu as model of cultural practices yet in the annual celebration of “Kadaugan sa Mactan” there is no single tribal chief who made a traditional ritual for the celebration!

Real truth is there are still LUMAD exists in LapuLapu City yet the local government never give them chance to celebrate the annual celebration of “Kadaugan sa Mactan” the reason that the tribal communities were not registered in National Commission for Indigenous People (NCIP)... The local government dont even know that to register in NCIP is an optional.

Probably advisers of the office of the mayor has no knowledge about the IPRA Law and NCIP... As historical city which named to our first hero Datu LapuLapu it is a BIG INSULT to the whole IP Community in the Philippines that the local government dont even acknowledge the existing tribal communities in Mactan.

As my late friend Datu Buyong Bangut Induyog said, “LAPULAPU CITY IS HISTORIC CITY WITHOUT HISTORIC PEOPLE”... The local government proud of Datu LapuLapu but never acknowledged the descendants tribe!
