The proposed 2027 National Expenditure Program (NEP) was formally submitted by Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Kim Robert C. De Leon to the House of Representatives and received by Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III and the House leadership on August 11, 2026.

With the submission of the NEP, the House has now begun its budget hearings and deliberations on the proposed national budget for 2027. This is a crucial process in determining how public funds will be allocated to programs, projects, and services that directly respond to the needs of our people.

As Members of Congress, we have the responsibility to carefully examine the proposed budget and ensure that every allocation is responsive, transparent, accountable, and aligned with the country’s development priorities.

Every peso of public funds must work for the Filipino people.

Sa pamamagitan ng ating inisyatibo at pakikipagtulungan sa Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), naging bahagi ang ating distrito ng Provision of Free Internet Access in Public Spaces (PFIAPS) program.

Sa pamamagitan ng programang ito, mas nailapit natin sa ating mga estudyante, kawani ng barangay, mga naghahanap ng trabaho, at bawat mamamayan sa ating komunidad ang access sa internet. Hindi na kailangang lumayo dahil sa barangay at mga eskwelahan mismo ay mayroon ng libreng internet - isang mahalagang hakbang upang mapalawak ang access sa impormasyon, edukasyon, serbisyo, at mga oportunidad.

Sa kabuuan, mayroong 71 locations sa ating distrito - 55 barangay halls at 16 schools. Narito ang breakdown ng mga lokasyon sa bawat bayan:

📍 Koronadal City – 29 locations
• 23 barangay halls
• 6 schools

📍 Banga – 25 locations
• 20 barangay halls
• 5 schools

📍 Tantangan – 17 locations
• 12 barangay halls
• 5 schools

Simula pa lamang ito ng tuloy-tuloy nating pagpapalawak ng digital connectivity. Madaragdagan pa ang mga lokasyong magkakaroon ng Free Internet Access sa ating distrito pagpasok ng 2027 budget, upang mas marami pa nating mga kababayan ang makinabang.

Taos-puso akong nagpapasalamat sa DICT sa patuloy na suporta sa South Cotabato, lalo na sa ating distrito. Patuloy nating isusulong ang mga programang naglalapit ng teknolohiya at mahahalagang serbisyo sa ating mga komunidad.

Naganap noong July 14-15, 2026 ang DOLE-TUPAD Payout para sa 500 youth beneficiaries mula sa Bayan ng Koronadal, Tantangan at Banga.

Sa pamamagitan ng programang ito, nabigyan ng pagkakataon ang ating mga kabataang benepisyaryo na magkaroon ng karagdagang suporta sa kanilang mga gastusin sa pag-aaral at pandagdag sa pambayad sa matrikula. Hangad nating maibsan ang pinansyal na pasanin ng kanilang mga pamilya at matulungan silang maipagpatuloy ang kanilang edukasyon habang naghahanda para sa kanilang kinabukasan.

Nawa'y patuloy kayong pagpalain ng Poong Maykapal ng matatag na pananampalataya, pagkakaisa, at mabuting kalusugan. Hangad ko ang patuloy na paglago at pag-unlad ng Iglesia upang lalo pa itong maging instrumento ng pag-asa, pagmamahalan, at paglilingkod sa kapwa.

Fresh from my engagements in the province, I headed straight to the Congressional Forum on Philippine Education Reform: The Road Ahead, held on July 23, 2026, at the University of the Philippines BGC, Taguig City organized by the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM II).

The forum launched the proposed Legislators Coalition for Philippine Education Reform and presented priority recommendations and proposed measures of EDCOM II for the 20th Congress.

As Senior Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, I firmly believe that education is one of the greatest investments we can make for our nation. Achieving lasting reforms requires sound legislation, collaboration, and a shared commitment to providing every Filipino learner with quality and future-ready education.

Joined by my fellow legislators in the House of Representatives, I was honored to participate in this important forum and reaffirm my commitment to advancing meaningful legislative reforms that will strengthen our education system and expand opportunities for every Filipino learner.

Together, let us continue building an education system that empowers every Filipino child and prepares them for a brighter future.
